and you cant go wrong with it just being $7 a can. and its self leveling and ceramic so it goes on good and doesnt chip easily. just make sure you prime and do a few coats...aka follow the directions on the can!

Here Jason, there's some chatter about what to look for when it comes to wires.  One guy even used the 8mm accel wires.

ok so a quick update. My good honda buddy Alan picked up some resistors for the coils and I grabbed some new NGK plug caps today. We're making a resistor pack much like hondamans set up to run with my upgraded coils. I'm getting a new hardline made up for my front brake and hopefully will kreem my tank within the next week or so. Once thats done and a good day or 2 I just might be able to fire her up for the first time since the rebuild.

So here is the most up to date picture. The tank is off due to the pin hole it has and I don't want it leaking all over the frame and exhaust anymore than it already has.

Ok so for a quick update... rebuilt the rear break because well...it wasn't working...pulled out the hub and the shoes just fell right out, gotta love it. So when rebuilding it i decided to paint the new hub black to off set the green so here ya go.

Also, Alan finished building the resistor pack and bracket for the coils and we got that installed. Don't have pics of that because it got dark and my phone sucks at taking pics in the dark. ANYWAYS....I found a tank that will work on my bike and look 100% better than the stock tank, but the one i have isn't mine and i have to return it but heres what it will look like on the bike. (feel free to let me know your opinions on it)

There's not too much left to go before i can start her up for the first time. I had a hardline made up for the front brake, just need to bleed it now. I need to coat my tank with the caswell electroplating kit i have, and test the electrical and make sure i have no bugs. After that a few minor touch ups and we should be good to go! Here are a few updated pics....not the original mileage on the speedo...which is stock.

so another update. Got a huge amount done! hooked up power and we have spark in all 4 plugs! yay for my coils being good! heres a pic of the resistor set up Alan made.

so i have a few bugs to work out electrically, need to get the hardline for the front brake all settled and coat the tank and well be in business!
more to come soon!

Its looking good Jason and I am sure with Alans help you`ll get there even faster. If I were to change anything (if it were my bike), Id relocate the tailight and license plate to under the tailpiece. Its just begging to get knocked off where it is now....

Hope to see you on the road for the next beer night  ;)

cheers
Andy

Nice work,

Do you know what/where your rear turn signals came from?  I am digging them puppies....

yeah Alan has been a HUGE help with everything. i owe him a ton for everything hes done for me thus far! im planning on putting an ammo box in the back on the same side as the plate bracket. i originally was going to mount the tail light inside the rear fender but i didnt like how it was coming out so i opted for this instead. and i definitely hope to be at the next beer night! hopefully i'll get her fired up this week. just have to coat the tank and figure a couple bugs out and we should be in business!

Of course its a good thing ;). Your tail end reminds me of some streetfighter machines from the UK. Sort of a mean look to it. Anyway bike is sounding good and cant wait for the first ride report!

What kind of band are you in?

good luck!

Don't take it personally, not every day brings success with a motorcycle project.  Look at it this way...nothing catastrophic happened.

Check out a few other threads in the project shop section, scraped up piston skirts, electrical meltdowns, fuel leaks and spontaneous combustion!
(now re-read that last line with Bonn Scott's voice)
.........Done Dirt Cheap!

ok anyway, don't let it get you down.  It'll be done soon.
