Recommend good manometers.

I've finally decided that this would be a good investment. I need a manometer. I do not want to build a 5' tall water pipe/lean to, I want the tool. I would like one that would last and something I will not feel I need to replace because what I have is cheap. Recommendations and comments about what you have or have tried are welcome.

I have the Morgan non-mercury and I sucked the fluid out once- it is OK to use.
People seem to like the Morgan carbtune that buy it, I might get one down the line.

I broke down and bought a morgan carbtune this summer and it was great.  It's a real nice tool, simple, good quality and I like the fact that it has no fluid, just metal rods that move.  It isn't the cheapest way to go, I paid around $100, but it is real nice to use and I think it will last forever.  It comes from England but shipping didn't take long, I had it in a week.  It came with very good instructions too.
I also didn't want a great big contraption that I made myself, mainly for storage reasons.  There's plenty of room in my toolbox for the carbtune.  The only downside is that it's more expensive than a homemade thing, but I don't think you'd regret buying it.

I'm liking this carbtune idea. Any special tools needed or special attachments I should get so it will work, or is that it?

This would be true no matter what gauge you buy, but I recommend the carb adjuster tool.

I think morgan also sells one on their website.  It's not easy to make the actual adjustment using a screwdriver and wrench.  If you've got a welder, you could weld a handle to a socket (8mm I think) and run a small screwdriver through it instead.
There are also auxiliary gas tanks.  I just used my own gas tank by coupling some more hose to it when it was off the bike, resting on the bench.

I purchased 4 vac gauges from my local auto supply store... they were inexpensive and worked very well.
 They were 15 bucks each, and I bought the adapters from a Honda dealer, they were also 15 bucks for the set.

 75 bucks I had my carbs balanced beautifully.

i had vacuum gauges but i could never get them to stop bouncing enough for me to read the things. the adapters that connect the hoses to the carbs did have restrictors but they really didnt seem to help. i'll be buying a morgan carbtune too as soon as i can.

Another vote for Morgan Carbtune.  Easy to use, durable.  Mine's loaned out since I don't need it often, and it has stood up to the use well.
