79 cb650 Header question

I bought the 79 cb650 with just these headers on it. I like them and they are in really good shape, the only thing that I can't figure out is what I can buy or make to fit on to complete the exhaust system, I don't care if its stock or aftermarket, and I also don't care if it doesn't look pretty. I have a welder and know how to use it, but I just thought that I would ask you guys where a good start would be or what you would recommend. Let me know what you guys think...

Holy crap. You could get some lift out of those like on a Harrier Jet. I've seen some stock pipes on ebay, some recently. You could try there or if you are close to a bike salvage yard, maybe pick up some useable components there. Good one in Salt Lake I order from.

Yeah, these are great for sweeping the floor with. When I first fired the bike up it shot up to 5 or 6,000 rpm and blew dust from the floor everywhere  :o And I have been watching on ebay for exhaust. I would really like to keep these and modify a 4 to 1 setup, but whatever I can find first is probably what I will get.

Those MIGHT have been stock headers... now they're 1/2 of the stock headers as someone has been nice enough to chop the rest of them off.

Pretty worthless now unless you can have the rest of the downpipes to a collector bent correctly.  Probably much cheaper to find a set on ebay or shell out for another system.

No, you're not missing anything. He has down thrust vectoring jet to help acheive orbit. All he needs now is stabilizing jets

Stock pipes are double wall.  I cut off a set like this just to have a set of headpipes incase I ever wanted to play with them.  I cut mine after the bottom bend and the rest was just rusty junk anyway.  If Soos agrees I have a old mac system.

If they are stock pipes that someone cut off, they did an extremely fine job of it. There isn't a flaw in the cut, I'll try to get some pics up.

May depend on what your crystal ball shows for your bike. Do you see some custom coolness in store for it or do you see your time and efforts directed else where into other projects and just want to ride?

I definately see some custom coolness in the future of the bike. My main focus of course is to just get it running properly, but after that I was leaning toward a cafe racer style. I have never made fiberglass moldings, but I am going to attempt a seat in the near future. I don't need to ride the bike at all for the about the next 7 months so I should have some time on my hands to transform this into a pretty good looking bike. With the help from you guys on SOHC4 I can do ANYTHING.... right?

Look forward to seeing what can become of it.  Those pipes should give a good start to a custom 4 into 1 that you want.  Wondering if that pipe O.D. is a standard size that you can pick up some mild steel or stainless tube for the fab?  Chrome to no finish will have to be dealt with though, wrap?

A wrap is what I was thinking, or else some High Temp black paint, I haven't had done a search for a good black paint yet but I know there has to be something out there that will withstand the heat from this powerhouse 650  ;) If I can I will get a video of it running, this thing is stupid loud, way louder than my old harley with drag pipes (shhh, don't tell the harley guys I sold it and bought a Honda)
