Hey Mick,

Well think guides are gone and perhaps the valves. Seems to be smoking like hell. Just wondering what to do with it. Got a good F2 engine here, so that is not the prob. Am not the restoring guy, love to build something out of her, with some nice parts on/in it.
Some better brakes. Any suggestions?

Since I prefer the F1, thinking of swapping the wheels. Dislike the comstars actually. Put in some wire wheels, a light 520 chain combo, rebuild the front with stabilizer and 20 m/m axle. A box swingarm, some longer shocks......................
Just wish that snow went, need to pick up the bike and start working.

Hi Rob, i am no fan of the comstars either. Do you remember the "astralite" wheels that were around in the 80's?  I wonder what one of these bikes would look like with a set of them on. They were a 5 star aluminium wheel and kinda look like comstars should have....Look at the wheels on the 3rd bike down the list..

Hey Mick,

Know the Astralites and know they are light! But then again they remind me of the comstars with their rivetted construction. Absolutely better looking but not my first choice. Am busy designing a light rearhub assembly, so maybe put that in. First need this bike to be setup to accomodate the dry-clutch for testdrives and go from there. Perhaps even take it to the track, need to find some 29CR's. Anyone?

Purchased some bits for the F2. Front and rear sprockets in 520, saves a lot of weight, and should release a few horses! Now looking for a chain. At least something to do this winter. Looking for a brake upgrade, maybe using the double piston CB900FB calipers, is a direct swap. Drilling and milling some of the access weight of the disks, though much lighter than the K type disk.

Love the old RCB endurance racers, but think these Phil Read replica's don't do justice to the real thing. Particular the exhaust is no match to the real thing. Think these guys from Japan did a, much, better job. Though you got to consider it was another era.

Rob, I agree with you on the beauty of the RCB racers, but why not get your inspiration form the real thing instead of the modern copy?

I absolutely agree guys, I was just trying to find a pic with sohc engine in it. I am a big fan of the RCB bikes!!

Thanks for giving me inspiration. I know this RS1000, it is not a RCB this one. It is a beauty of a bike but a bit to 'modern' for me.
Would love to own it, but this kind of money is absurd.
Within weeks I have a seat and (tophalf)fairing, moulds taken from original parts, made for me. Once already owned them but sold them to a friend of mine.

I got a set of Astralites sitting here.. they would have been pretty light when they came out. A lot wider than comstars.. 2.5 front and 3.5 rear.. they had been on a Kawi.., but are 6 bolt pattern.

Bike will not stay that way for very long I'm afraid. Another engine, other brakes, one of my own swingarms and probebly some other wheels.
Looking for another seat, other paint scheme. We'll see.
