Bottom line I SUCK at electrical and needs some advice!

Im currently rebuilding my motor and waiting for a few parts to come in so in the mean time Im trying to tackle my electrical system, wiring, etc. By the way the bike is a 77 CB550F Im debating on throwing on the 82 CB650sc wiring (but modifying the harness and cutting what I dont need and redoing a few wirings here and there), coils, Ignition Trigger, etc. Is it worth throwing on the CB650sc parts on the bike? Also since the Ignition trigger on the 650 is non-point like the 550 Im assuming it will be less of a hassle but is this better or should I throw on a Dyna-S? Isnt that pretty much similiar to the 650 trigger so not worth putting it on or is it more advanced and worth modifying it to the 650 bigger shaft as stated in Paulages build?

As for coils I want to go with a Accel 3 ohm ones as they are complete and comes with spark plug wires. Dyna is another one I was looking at or is it better staying with the CB650 ones?

Next question is will I encounter issues with charging going this route and is there a resolution for it like higher output alternators, resistors, etc?

Thanks,
J5

if you're going to replace the stock coils, use some that allow for replacement of the plug wires. you'll appreciate it down the road. PM'ed you back about your questions.

Yea thats what I was going to go with anyways was either debating on Accel or Dyna and both have replacable plug wires so just need to know which one is better or recommended? Only thing with Accel is that they only have a 3 ohm and Dyna has both 3 and 5 ohm.

Just replied back to you!
