Well I took my Triumph to the dealer(Collins Cycle) for inspection and a nasty rattle from my fan. The last time I rode it, the fan stopped working, but I was able to get it home without the temp going up. He called me a day later and said the fan essentially was prevented from spinning by a buildup of tar and chips on the inside of the fan housing. He showed it to me today, sorry no pics, but the fan bearings were ripped apart and it was loose inside the housing. The next thing that could have happened was the fan going through the radiator. Glad I had it worked on when I did.
