I would like to put an oil temperature gauge on my 750. VDO. The sending unit is small - 1/8" pipe thread.
Where would you or have you installed the sending unit??
The only considerations I can think of at this point is that I don't want it in a highly vulnerable location (bottom of the oil pan) or a highly pressurized place (I don't know for a fact that it would stand up to 80 psi).
Thanks!
The gauge is only a little over 2" so I think I can tuck that up in front of the handebars.

If pressure is an issue, you can't use the galley plug on the right side of the engine as it is full pressure.
Since oil temp is an issue of relativity IMO, put it in the oil tank. About the only place you can find a volume of oil that's not pressurized.
You don't need to know the absolute temp so much (which will vary all over the place depending on where you put it, as what it is in normal comfortable conditions vs when its in high load, high ambient temp conditions.
If pressure weren't a problem, I'd look to build a "T" affair off the area where the pressure sending unit is. I don't like the rt hand galley so much as its vulnerable in a fall. Though honestly I've never heard of a problem with it there.
