cb750 wiring arggg

can you run a short off your coils??
for some reason when I connect black power wire to my white and black wire from my coils i get an arc.
I've been fighting with this issue  for some time. the last owner did some pretty mickey mouse wiring.
I'm basically bypassing the kill switch. Which is off some other bike.

I remember A Honda expert telling me once that the electrical system on these old bikes works differently then most.  I think he said they are a "closed" circuit, so the different Kill switch could be some of the issue to begin with.  Since you are bypassing it, i doubt that really helps...
But I need Tacos!  I need them or I will explode!

the way the wiring diagram  shows white and black wire runs to the switch .when you switch it to run it connects to a black wire. I just connect the two wires. but there is still a little arc when to two wires touch. I've followed the black and white wires which led to the coils  for bare wire in case of grounding  some where but no luck.
I'm baffled

There should be a little ' arc' as you are completing the circuit to ground thru' the coil(s), depending which point is closed. The coils 'pull' enough current ( normal ) to produce a spark when you touch black to black/white..... you have points or Dyna type ignition ?
If your sure it's a carb problem; it's ignition,
If your sure it's an ignition problem; it's carbs....

I dont have points. oh here another thing if I jump on it in first between 4 and 6 grand the power cuts out then comes on in spurts. only in first though. like i said Ive had this ghost in the wiring for a while.she'll be fine for a month, then poof weird things happen. cutting out power, blowing fuses, cat living with dogs.
