CB 450 Lower tree made in Italy?
« on: September 27, 2009, 12:36:28 PM »
My 1970 CB450 has forks I am not familiar with. The lower tree has made in Italy on it. There is some sort of friction type steering stabalizer with an adjusting nut at the top of the upper tree. I'll take pics is needed. Is this stock? Any good?

The name ARCES is on the lower tree near made in ITALY. Bike also has DID wheels, they can't be stock.

I used to have a pair of CB450's (both '70's) with Ceriani road race forks.
Sold them both, I wonder if you don't have one of them?????

The bike is a CL not CB, sorry for any confusion, I have too many bikes. I would guess its the same as CB anyway. So I took some pics. The word ARCES did not show in the pic, but its there. So should I keep these forks or sell them. My riding is only weekend cruising, I'm not carving it up.

Yeah, those are vintage Cerianis.
They came with the clamps and stem and steering damper, were a bolt-up to the drum brake.
That old school friction damper is very effective, don't sniff at it......

Absolutely worthless now, I think you should send them to me - I'll be glad to pay shipping....... ;) ;) ;D ;D
