That fool has been trying to sell crap on this board , hondachopper.com , and others.

I am surprised that he hasn't got his ass kicked yet....

He was trying to sell a "chopped" CB550 on Slick's Choppers (www.slickschoppers.com, sister site to Hondachopper.com but not anal about model). I emailed him for pics, and he sent em to me... ecch. If that's chopped, I'm changing my definitions! This thing was BASTARDIZED. A man who does that sort of butchery to a bike should be smacked.
If we see him around, I'll be sure to tell him off about your business deal... if it's a big thing, perhaps we can get some of the guys over at HC.com to do a "courtesy run" and stop by his house to get either your money, or the collars, or both. ;)

I almost got bit on the whole deal. I was going to grab the whole bike and bits from him. Set up the trailer and make a run to go get it. In one of his emails he made quite a few anti-semetic comments about paypal/ebay. Not that I am Jewish or that it matters. He just came off as nasty an I decided against the deal. I am not nasty to anyone until they are nasty in general where it offends my normal human senses.

This guy set off the bull#$%* meter full blast.  ???

I got bit for a fairly small amount by this guy on some handlebars. I e- mailed Glenn, and he said in a nice return e-mail that he'd investigate it. I haven't seen that guy on here in a while since. Things like this have a way of catching up to guys who operate like that, one way or the other. Sorry to hear of others
losses as well as my own. >:(

DCopp,
I have those actual collars. I live in the same town as him but met him on this website, And ended up buying everything for the parts for my bike. I saw some things listed for sell after I bought them so I asked him list everything as SOLD so that there was no more confusion as to what was for sell and what wasn't. I hadn't had any bad deals, everything always went well.
Sorry that happened, I can send you the collars. No charge. I am not going to need them. They are in so so condition.

I've deleted the posts from this individual as well as his account on this site.  It is rare that we need to take this action, but there are too many bad transactions in which this person was principally involved and he has not taken the opportunity to explain things.

This group has had an excellent track record and I hope situations like these can be avoided in the future.  I've been thinking about using different software for the classifieds or activating the feedback feature of this discussion forum software.  However for now, In the absense of other mechanisms, the best thing to do if you are on the wrong end of a bad transaction is to try to resolve the matter through email and, if after reasonable effort that fails, let the moderators know and post a comment here about the situation so others don't suffer the same fate.

I wonder what the utility of these measures will be. The MF can always open a new email account and a new account here. After all, there are almos 2000 users registered, but how many post in a regular basis? We shouldn't forget that our threads are read buy, maybe, thousands of people out there. When somebody places a "Wanted" ad you are calling out the sharks.

...Matt (lifeofthe88) just emailed me about some comstarts he has for sale.  I made him aware of this thread and invited him to respond to it.  Since he doesn't have an account anymore I'll let you all know if I get a response from him.

Wow, I almost bought a regulator off of him.  The whole deal sounding fishy when he told me to send cash via usps.  Glad I went with my instincts on that one.

I just mailed off said collars. Should arrive in a couple of days.
I had bought them from Matt, but when I found about the deal with DCopp, I thought the right thing to do was send them to him.
As to the comstars they are setting in my shed at this moment.

It looks like this guy is trying to make good. Not that I am defending anyone in this. The decision to ban this dude has been made, and trust me Glenn I do not contest it. Sometimes you just have to stick to your guns. The moral of the story...Never #$%*e on anyone or burn anyone on this forum. Question I have is did this guy ever mail back the lousy $15?

Got an email from Matt last night, here is part of it (edited):
"...been thinking about squaring off that ....... on the exhaust collars if you dont need them?"

I emailed him back stating that I had already mailed them to DCopp.
Not defending anyone either nor can I say all deals were on the "up and up".....just that all my deals with him went smooth.  There were a few kinks but all worked out okay in the end. As I said in another post....I have bought everything he had (except tires/rims) so there should be no more items to list.
I hope this all works out,
Lee

Holy smokes is that BS....i mailed him the $15.00 in Novmeber and after two weeks of nothing i e-mailed him asking where they were...first there was no response so the next e-mail i sent him asking him straight up if he ripped me off and his reply e-mail simply said "YEP"  He is FOS so there...by the way HONDACHOPPERPROJECT has been spectacular in this whole ordeal and should be commended for being a stand up guy!!!  Thanks

Well, this guy effed me over too. I sent him a money order for $55 for the 4-4 drag pipes. He kept saying he never got it, so after 60 days, i filed to get my money back, assuming it was lost in the mail. Well, the USPS sent me a copy of the cashed MO with his signature on it. I told him I got this, and sent him a scan of it. Here's his reply:

Quote
steve, im not positive but i think it may have been my crooked brother.i will send you a refund. i cant afford it right now.im unemployed since i went to jail a month and a half ago. i beat my brothes ass yeaterday but he denys cashing it.if it was cashed it had to have been him.anyhow i still got the pipes but after removing them  i relized the lip that goes into the collar are missing.so i think the pipes are crap.i will have your refund in no longer than a month.sorry fer all the bull#$%*.i wish i would have been able to keep up with what was going on.thanks for your patince and understanding.,

do you have these pipes hondachopperproject?

When he first said he didn't get the money order, i thought he could be ripping me off, but you never know. Then, he started getting antsy about me sending more money after I got my refund, trying to scam another $55 no doubt...This guy needs to go BACK to jail
