I almost got bit on the whole deal. I was going to grab the whole bike and bits from him. Set up the trailer and make a run to go get it. In one of his emails he made quite a few anti-semetic comments about paypal/ebay. Not that I am Jewish or that it matters. He just came off as nasty an I decided against the deal. I am not nasty to anyone until they are nasty in general where it offends my normal human senses.

This guy set off the bull#$%* meter full blast.  ???

Wish I had the same meter as you. He made similar comments to me, but i figure, eh, while it's not exactly PC, i've run into people that make comments about "jewing someone down" and when you call them out, they're like, "that term is bad?" like they don't even realize it refers to a whole race/religion of people...

Wow, I almost bought a regulator off of him.  The whole deal sounding fishy when he told me to send cash via usps.  Glad I went with my instincts on that one.

Yeah, he mentioned me sending cash, because he didn't want his bank/CC info on paypal. He also mentioned western union, but that was too pricey. He said he was concerned about money orders because of some of the scams out there. In fact, i think he was on here or slicks talking about someone scamming him with one of those deals where they send you a cashiers check for too much, and you send them change, and me and a few others kept him from getting scammed on that. man, the more i think about this, the more pissed i get!

Corbinsa,
I almost bought the pipes 2 days ago. My son was going to get them for my b-day (12-14), he went over and got them. Matt was not there but he had them laid out for his Dad to give to my son.. But when my son got here and we inspected them, we saw that they were in pretty bad shape, and the "lip" was rotted away on almost all four of the pipes. Not good for much.
My son took them back to the Dad and showed him what was wrong with them and got the money back.
May I ask what the date of the email was mentioning the "lips missing" on the pipes?
Anyways I don't think the pipes are of much value. Pretty bad shape. I was only interested in them as I had sold mine (which were in great shape) because I was going to give up on the project, until my son got me re-interested in it.

I don't think I would have liked the Jew comment either if I would have heard it.

He emailed me yesterday around 4:30 and told me that, no doubt after you found out what kind of shape they were in, and he saw the beating he was taking on here. He probably figured it wouldn't be long before he was found out. Saturday was when I emailed him that the MO had been cashed, so even after that he was still trying to get more money out of the stuff...I'm seriously considering filing a mail fraud complaint and DCopp should as well.

This sounds to me like he decided to rectify the situation after he was busted, and that he tried ripping off hondachopperproject's kid to pay me back...

Now, I'm trying to decide if I'll wait and see a few more days if he sends me the money, or just file a mail fraud claim...

thoughts, opinions, suggestions?

File the claim, break his kneecaps, etc

People like this never learn, untill they either get bused or busted up.
They go from website to website screwing people , all the while laughing along the way on how
they are scamming people out of cash. They get even more enjoyment when people give
them a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th chance to "make things right" .

Followed your link to Slick's Choppers. Interesting reading!

Oh Just so that there is NO confusion, in his first post on that link page life..88 wrote:

mynameisyup....... is MY ebay name not his. I didn't know my ebay name would be used/posted in attempts to sell tire/rims on other sites

I just do not want any confusion on who that name belongs to.

The Attorney General in his home state might be interested in hearing about this case of Internet Fraud. The guy has left a trail a mile wide.

well, i just held down the backspace button for quite some time... was gonna go on a rant and talk some #$%*e!  then, i realized that it is not my position to do so.

so, guys and the few of you gals... buyer beware!

i would imagine that he is reading this thread as a guest or new user.  if so, he'll either sting one or more of us again... or... he'll identify himself as the ol' lifeofthewhatever the hell it was... was it con?  ex-con?  geez, now i cant remember  ;)

anyway, if you get parts from me... i will not rip you off.  i might be a lazy bastard (see merchandise threads) but i won't rip you off.

peace,
hef

p.s. i think that if he were to identify himself, pay his dues, and possibly make some honorable transactions once again on this site... glenn might be willing to remove this thread.  "might" being the key word.  now, who would he make those honorable transactions with?  i have no idea as his actions have spoken louder than typed words  ;D

Well, if you note in that thread, I was another one who told him to head over here and square up or get f****d... I just recently got stung by some jerk on ebay, so I'm especially sympathetic to DCopp's plight.
Oh, I'd be doing you a disservice if I didn't let you know who my guy was: he goes by 'snoopysdad4real' on ebay (among potential other names), and has a distinct 'L33t' alphanumeric typing style. AVOID HIM AT ALL COSTS, especially when the cost will be YOURS, not HIS!  >:(

What's an "L33t" style?

I only buy from eBay in the UK (although I have bought books from the US), so unlikely to come across him...

n9viw,

Did you even look at that seller's feedback before buying from him?  36 negative feedback in the last year is horrible!  I can certainly sympathize with you getting ripped off, but you've got to watch out for yourself.
