New rider from Beloit, the butt end of Wisconsin!
« on: September 29, 2009, 12:37:23 AM »
Hey there! I'm a new motorcycle owner/rider (just in time for winter!). I completed an MSF course and have been in the process of acquiring my new baby for a while now, but I think I can now safely say that on Wednesday the DMV and I will come together in unison and harmony, the title will be put in my name, and it'll fully be mine!

I'm originally from Tempe, AZ, but am currently a student (studying environmental biology and geology) at Beloit College, in Wisconsin. I thought that, as a senior, it was time to fulfill my dream of getting a bike! I was looking for cycles in the Beloit area and just happened to find a 1977 CB550 on craigslist (located right on campus!). I basically fell in love with it immediately. The perfect size (actual size and cc), well ridden but cared for (I love older bikes with character), even my favourite colour!. I was really happy to find out that there was a whole large community devoted to these types of beauties. I'm excited to finally be introducing myself!

There are, obviously, a few small things that need to be fixed, but other than those... it starts every time, runs well, shifts well... a little more love and it'll be great!

I'm sorry but the rules state that you must supply a photo of said bike otherwise we will not believe you. ;D
Welcome along, ask anything...we may even have the answers, if not we'll go look or discuss the problem until we talk it fixed. :)
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

Welcome from someone who is definitely from Wisconsin, but who currently resides in FIB land.  Cheers.

Not dogs, cows. Rabid cows. They have the jaw power to inflict such damage!

But yes... the muffler... important things get fixed first, and THEN we'll address that mess...
