Race-tuning Info Needed
« on: September 29, 2009, 11:44:23 am »
Where can I get good information on building up a CB750 race engine?  Are there any good books on the subject?

I recently bought a vintage racing car with a CB750 engine. The engine in the car is basically stock, but there's a second engine in pieces that looks pretty wazoo. For example, it has Hilborn injectors, and it may have run on methanol. I've been told that it has Carrillo rods and high-compression pistons, too, but I haven't confirmed that.

I have some experience building race engines for cars, but this will be the first motorcycle engine I've worked on in any serious way.

You won't need a good book, you've found the place to find out whatever you need to know. There are lots of clued up people in here. Welcome to the forum.
