I agree, I'd heard some pretty amazing things about certain bikes and the Hayabusa is no exception, but to turn it into something with THAT kind performance is "Mind Boggling"!!!!!!!!!!!!! :o 8)

Wonder if Sam has seen this and thinks it might give him some competition? ??? ;)

Ah, Sam's probably just holding  back and waiting for an opportunity to tangle with one of those. ;) I found it on youtube when I was browsing and found this one one a "Twin Tubocharged" Dodge Viper. Take a look. ;)

You think Busas are badass you should ride a ZX14.... even a stock one will blow away a mildly modified Busa.

Granted I'm biased.... but the numbers do not lie. Neither does the seat. ;)

Altho there are plenty of fast Busas out there there are a few fast Kawis

I cant view the vid on this computer , but if thar run was made on pavement, near sea level it would not get near that speed on the salt flats.

A Kawi , with a motor smaller than a stock Busa, ran a one way time of 272 in Sept.. fastest situp bike ever.... go Jon Amos....

I'm not as UP on these types as some of you all are, so bear with me AND clue me in while you are at it. ;)

Like I KNEW that the GPZs were something, but didn't REALLY know about how the 1100s ran, their horsepower or much else. And then I got mine. Now I realize that my old 83' isn't up to some of the later stuff, but it IS a pretty good runner though.

So, seriously, I'd like to be brought up to speed on the "High Powered" Jap bikes. 8)

Suzuki -

GSXR 1300 Hayabusa
GSXR 1000

Kawasaki-

ZX14R
ZX10R

Yamaha-

YZF-R1
VMAX

Honda-

CBR 1000RR
CBR 900RR

Probably the fastest from each camp. (VMAX doesn't really count, maybe most powerful as well?) I do know that the Busa and the 14 are the best straight line bikes. Nothing can touch them.

Grab an issue of Cycle World's Master Bike shootouts.... They usually have pretty unbiased numbers for the engines.

As of right now the 09 Kawasaki ZX14R is the most HP bike from the Land of the Rising Sun.

I knew Dave O. He died at Maxton 2 years ago. 49 years old. Did you guys see the oil pushing out of that dump pipe when the bike left the line? Turbo's can be a PITA especially with big boost #'s. ::) ;)

That wasnt oil I hope! You shouldnt have any oil leaking through the turbo's CHRA into the exhaust. Lord knows I wouldnt want that spraying all over my back tire at 250mph.

It was oil and I'd say I've seen it before with big turbos unless the scavenge is real good and not RPM controlled. I'm not a turbo/supercharger guy but that doesn't mean I don't know what they are about. ::) I have enough problems with big bore NA engines. ;) ;D
