That is not the deep fried butter I learned about. The way I learned it is you put sticks of butter in the freezer for a few hours, while it is chilling, start heating the oil. When the butter is as hard as it will get, pull them out, dip in egg wash, and cover liberally with crushed croutons, garlic flavored preferred. Once well covered, drop carefully into the heated oil and leave til golden brown, just a couple minutes. Pull it out and quickly cut one long face off and empty the stick and melted butter into a bowl and then place the shell on paper towel to cool and dry out.
These shells can be stuffed with anything, Asparagus spears, Crab Salad, Shrimp Cocktail, all kinds of thing, your imagination is the only limiting factor.
