turn signal question
« on: September 30, 2009, 08:01:39 PM »
The turn signals on my F1 flash faster the higher speed I go and actually stop flashing when I come to a complete stop but the signal stays illuminated.  I have had the bike for one summer and it has always done this but I just took it as a quirk of an old bike.  I have no other electrical issues and never a charging problem so is this usual of just a worn out flashing relay?

get an electrical blinker, it will blink at a constant pace no matter how fast you are riding. Doesnt need the heat to make relay work

+1 on the new style flasher unit.

As for why yours does that, it could be one of, or a combination of a few things.  Low voltage at the battery, resistance in the wiring harness/connectors, old/worn out bi-metal flasher, but if it flashes fine at higher rpms than idle, then it's more likely one or both of the first two.
