I've purchased a set of 300 exhausts from a member here. I can't wait to put them on the diecast bike. I now have a decent set of proper wire wheels for it and it's one more step closer to stock. My plan was for it to be a modified contrast to the Sandcast but it's de-evolving back to stock appearance. Red and blue/green, The mags and header can go on the brown 70 eventually.

I'm building up the courage to get a cop check on the VIN of the latest 70 for the Vermont registration.

Yes. My main worry is a friend did it and the cop wrote him up for a race car sitting on a trailer in his yard. If someone dug enough I have more than the one that's not been transferred to my name.

I ordered a seat cover tonight, thinking the China tariff business might screw us up on getting some repro parts. I'll probably order some more stuff for the K0. I'm not a fan of Chinese stuff but sometimes it's pretty good quality.

Cops are definitely worse than vampires. At least vampires have the decency do not enter without being asked. Cops will make up a reason to quote on quote Flex their Authority an arrest or become agitated and violent with you if you detest there I'm backed and unwarranted Authority on the falsehood of the matter at hand.

I landed a new unused black repro airbox off of ebay. I bid $100 on an $80 minimum someone ran it up to $96. Still cheaper than anywhere else. I noticed Yamiya has the two hole airboxes on sale, I believe they are the same as a 3 hole if someone didn't mind drilling the third hole.
I might post a Q? to see if anyone has used the made in china carb and airbox rubbers. Really cheap, under $30 for the 8 pieces.
No car racing this year, my engine has a cracked cylinder head and a new grandson keeping his Mom that drives the dragster busy anyway. That may free up some Dad money although the car still needs fixed.
Edit: still waiting on a call from a welder to repair the heads.  He's 6 hours away.

Good point, I've never paid much attention to the rubbers. My Sandcast has it's original ones and the diecast has a K4 engine, no idea what isolators those are. They are on early carbs. The late K0 I got last fall has it's original serviceable ones so I'll need to pay attention to the difference.

A black K0 airbox from ebay is on the way, the seller listed it with an odd description. Only one other bidder found it and he cost me $16 extra dollars. I ordered a set of no number 4-4's with 4 carb to airbox rubbers and a grab handle from DSS. I have an old wingnut K1 airbox to rob the hardware from. The last one I did I modified the wing bolts so they can't overtighten and mash the box.
The 4-4 pipes are for the original bike on this thread the now Blue/Green one. I paid a guy for a used set and he apparently didn't have them. I did get a refund after three weeks of a nonsensical story so I'm restraining myself from naming names but am very unhappy about it. He also offered me a consolation set of carbs that I don't expect to ever see.
I need to search my stash for correct footpeg bolts and need another heat shield. The other parts are for the brown bomber.

C'mon David, my order is still only invoiced. Makes me think my 4-4's are crossing an ocean as we speak. L0L I'm doing some shopping in my stash for peg bolts and shield parts. I swore I saw a deal on a full set of heat shields and hardware, can't find it now.

He must have read this, it now says it was dispatched last Friday. Woo Hoo! Thanks David! The inside the pipe stainless paint is on the way from Eastwood also.  I see my big brothers gl1000 getting kicked off the lift soon.

Edit. the exhaust paint is here, no longer stainless but ceramic and aluminum in it. The new/used/but not/old/repro airbox is here, A black one from LPM I think England.  I dug out my worst k1 or so airbox to rob the hardware from for the K0. The last one got washers to bottom out the wing bolts so I don't squash the new airbox.

That site is new to me they have a few things to search through. As oem parts go away or get crazy expensive we need more sources.

I put the bike on the lift to get ready for the 4-4's and realized it has head studs and late header mounts. I dug into the parts boxes and came up with 4 nice exhaust adapters and 4 pretty good clamps. I once bought a parts bike with a bad oil leak and they were well preserved.  The parts are soaking in a little solvent and/or vinegar now. Delivery is expected today, I feel like a kid at Christmas.

It's tomorrow and the pipes are now due today, the bolts and heat shields are due tomorrow. I removed the old pipes and header studs, I got the new crush washers and exhaust spigots installed. I'll set up a table to apply the inside pipe exhaust coating. I've been sidetracked  many times but it's getting it's pipes now.
