I actually just took it to the gas station put a few gallons in and as soon as I opened it up on the highway it started to clear up.  It winds out, still has a little hesitation but its 70% better.  Now if it was only legal to ride the thing...

Riding it fast isn't going to fix a crud-in-the-carbs problem.  At best you were probably just using more fuel at that speed than could leak past the dirty fuel valve so the fuel level temporarily went back down to where it's supposed to be.

I'm sorry, dude, but you are going to need to pull those carbs. They are very intimidating, but they really aren't that difficult.

Maybe just putting fresh gas helped it, who knows...  I do plan on taking the carbs apart soon, and I'm not looking forward to it.  Can anyone post a link to a worthwhile how-to?  I would appreciate it greatly.  I swear, between this and my FZR, they take up all my free time!
