Old Bike Barn

I really hate blast the Old Bike Barn like this but I kinda have to.  I hadn't received the parts I ordered for over a month.  So I called, and called and called, and emailed with no reply.  I took me over a week to get someone on the phone funny since they took a few minutes to take my hard earned cash.  Stuff happens I guess.  After a nice talk with the folks at the Barn I was told that my stuff had been back ordered.  It's a shame nobody thought to tell me about it.  So I simply canceled the order and will go with another company.  No big deal just thought I'd share my experience with whom ever might care to read.  As with anything online buyer beware but I was hoping that this wouldn't have happened with my first order.  Anyway I need to get back to work.

yep, they totally chew rocks. There is a feedback on them already, but I'm content to bash them some more. I feel they suck hard enough to warrant more flaming. Also, maybe the next person will see this thread and not order from them. Because they suck. They really suck. A lot.

Actually oldbikebarn achieved the impossible. they both suck AND blow at the same time.  its no wonder society is going to hell. they're breaking the laws of physics.

I guess I'm really lucky, I've only ordered once from them about 2 and a half years ago and I didn't have any problems with them. They told me when I ordered 1 item I needed was back ordered but they told they'd have it in 2 days. My wait time was roughly 8 days.

They sucked so badly on my order that I had to get my card company on their ars. They jumped then when they might loose their Visa indorcement.

haha this just happened to me a week and a half ago i ordered an ignition system from then and then a week later they come back and say that my order was cancelled. WTF i had been waiting to ride my 750 and man o man i was ticked. Got it from ebay in 3 days and runs like a champ now :)

Even though I keep unsubscribing to their email offers, I still get spammed every other week. They are the opposite of a class act. They need to look into how Z1enterprises run their business. I dont know how Old Bike Barn stays afloat??

Well, it's not so much like they break the laws of physics - it's that they're more like a turbine. They make massive suction at the front, and totally blow out the rear, while making a lot of hot air in between.  The big problem is the spinning blades in the center, and the fact that their customers are a flock of birds.

The problem as I see it is, they are a dotcom company and don't have much of an inventory. They take orders, go find the part from bikebandit or some other place, mark it up 20%, and weeks, somtimes months later ship it out to you IF and only IF the stars and all the planets are aligned.

I'll say it again gentlemen....

I'd gladly offer to help in any way I can, and try my best to rectify the disease that is old bike barn.

I don't have close to everything they do... but I try.

I, like so many others, bought from them years ago. I never had a problem, but I only needed one thing, and it was before they were very popular. I got it in 2 days. No big deal.

As time went on people kept saying how they sucked at shipping and customer service. So I keep trying to step in and fill the voids. I love my CB. Even though I haven't ridden it in 12 years I still acquire parts for it almost every week. I'd be honored to help in any way I can.

Not to go against the theme here, but I ordered some stuff from them in May 2009 and had the opposite experience.

Within 12 minutes of my order being processed I received and email that one item was back ordered and my order would be delayed. I emailed to complain and asked them to ship me everything but the one back ordered item.

Not only did they agree to do that, but they didn't charge any additional shipping when they did send the one back ordered item a week or two later.

They resolved everything within on afternoon and I got my parts quickly. I have had no problem with them and have ordered from them a few times.

Just my experience, but maybe they have cleaned up their act.

And no, I am not affiliated with them in any way!  ;) ;)

I'm sure it does. I was told for 3 weeks straight that the parts (tires) would ship that week. Never did. Master of the run around if you ask me. I ordered them from DK and got them in 2 days. Never again.

Gentlemen thanks for the replies.  I have been out of town for the weekend but I never thought this was such a hot topic.  I'm still a little miffed but knowing that I wasn't the first makes me feel a little bit better.  One suggestion to who ever's monitoring the forum would be to edit the one thread in the FAQ's that lists the OBB.  I'm going to Harbour Freight for some retail therapy.  This site kicks ass and I'm anxious to keep checking in.
