Tipper just a small point but you cant second 3 bikes....one second per forum member  ;).

cheers
Andy

From what I can recall, you can second as many as you want, just cannot nominate more than 1.  I wll dig and see what I can find.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

I know I asked Heffay this question in the past and that is what he said.  I cannot find that set of posts.  I wonder if it were part of the posts that were removed just before he left.

If we all think this needs to be added to the rules, I can bring it up with the big bosses and see if we all can come to a decision.

I'd like to nominate new member Pacochopper's 650. Yes, it's a work in progress but you have to start with good foundations & the lines and proportions on it are absolutely spot-on.

Just seems a bit counter-intuitive to have one person second everything. As I see it, one person nominates and one person (or more than one person) seconds it...then next bike, someone different seconds it....if no one seconds it then there is no interest.....if you second them all then what does it mean? You want them all to win?

Anyway maybe over-thinking it but Ill go with the general consensus  ;D

To me, I second them to get them through the process so it makes it in the BOTx by the 15th (I like them all).  As I see there is an issue with me doing that, I will stop seconding them and let others do the deed.  It really makes me no mind.

If the big bosses want to make what you mentioned a rule of the BOTx, it is up to them.

x = M (month) or Y (year)

I haven't nominated in a while so here is my nomination.  Me likee this one.  HellFishTat's

Nice, clean, more on the basic side, pleasing to the eye and well done IMHO.  Gives me the impression it runs like the dickens.  I am actually starting to like comstars.  Was not a real fan of them before but they are starting to really grow on me.  hmmmm, and aquired taste?

Wow, I'm at a loss...thanks much for the feedback...especially considering some of the bikes you've built!

This bike has had a few different forms and various aesthetics in its life, eventually leading up to what it is now---and will remain!

I initially got it running with just the stock motor which had a 605 kit in it and rode it for sometime, however it was obvious that the rings were pretty worn so I decided to take the opportunity and simply rebuild the whole bike!
I bead blasted the cases, painted them and went through the bottom end replacing the primary and cam chains and making sure everything else was in spec. First time using Hondabond/Threebond 1194, and I am quite happy with the results. I used fresh jugs and brand new .25 over pistons and like I said earlier, put the 650 cam in. I also did some mild porting and polishing which really allows the engine to flow much better. Also had a valve job done afterwards.
While doing this, I had a painting buddy spray the frame. Used stainless bolts for all of the motor mounts and other mounting points. I welded in a spot for the battery to sit directly in front the rear tire and used less of a box to leave the battery more exposed--again because I like the aesthetic.
Bought a new gas tank which I thought fit the aesthetic and also fit the size specifications that I needed. Using the ford spare tire cover ring for the rear fender fit perfectly on the 16" rim/wheel. These firestones have a taller sidewall and really allowed me to make the fender fit the tire very tightly.
I am about 5'9", which made it easier to get create a nice tight and proportional build as far as the frame/hardtail goes. I like to ride with my feet under me so that I have more control, so didn't use mids or forwards.
If I were taller I might have cut the neck and changed the rake and used longer forks to compensate for building a longer hardtail to fit a taller height--for aesthetic sake.
This was such an enjoyable build because I was able to build exactly the bike that I wanted to ride everyday using an aesthetic that appealed to me and was unique as well as a variety of components that make it reliable enough to use for everyday transportation.
I like to build bikes that are ridden but still look good!

Again, thanks for the feedback...I work with kids and adults living with disabilities during the day so wrenching on and building bikes is my very own therapy at night!
cheers
JD

TipperT wrote me and told me about being nominated.  This is the 4th CB750 I have owned, and the first F.  I really enjoy riding it.  As I'm sure all of you experience, no matter where I go I get a lot of comments.  Most are surprised that it's 32 years old, and almost everyone said they have owned a "CB750-4" in their life.

Here are some photos of the bike now.  I also have two or three with a stretched tank on it, but I like the stock(ish) look so much, I rarely ride it Cafe'd out.

You can see it has Raask rearSets, Raask adjustable handlebars and CBR600 switchgear, but by far, my favorite modification is the Corbin seat.  It also has electronic ignition and a set of Dyna coils.

I did right at 150 miles on last Friday after I got out of work (12:30p) http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=Raleigh,+nc&daddr=US-64+W+to:pittsboro,+nc+to:silk+hope,+nc+to:liberty,+nc+to:ramseur,+nc+to:N+Carolina+22+S/N+Carolina+42+E+to:goldston,+nc+to:N+Carolina+42+E+to:holly+springs,+nc+to:raleigh,+nc&hl=en&geocode=%3BFfFPIQId5nJK-w%3B%3B%3B%3B%3BFXlqHgIdnVhC-w%3B%3BFQpdHgIdcD9L-w%3B%3B&mra=ls&via=1&vps=16&jsv=178b&sll=35.65618,-79.145508&sspn=0.793353,1.392517&num=10

and I  just got back for a little 100 mile romp through the eastern part of North Carolina and I never once had to re-adjust my ass in the saddle.  I had a Corbin I brought new for my VT1100C3, and it was way too hard.  I guess the age of this one has softened up the foam.  It's nice!  I'm trying to scrounge up the $250+ to get it recovered (ouch!)

Unfortunately, the red paint/clear coat isn't holding up very well.  I have purchased a set of the stock tank stripes and plan on painting it black over this winter.

here it is getting Cafe'd out for the www.RaleighRumble.com.  I didn't win.  Not that I was expecting to.  The Brit Iron guys hardly look at anything with more than 2 cylinders.  I did get a bunch of comments/questions from all the other Honda riders.

I am seriously diggin' the handlebars HellFishTat!  I have never seen those before - not to say others haven't.  To me, it looks like a nice change to clip-ons or clubmans.  Still got the low down look but looks like you can make it more comfotable than clip-ons or clubmans.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

They're adjustable clubmans (similar to the pair I have on mine) except flipped upside down...
