Topic: New CB 750 K2 Project Bike

Picking up a 72 CB 750 this coming Monday. It's a bike I've wanted since I was 14, growing up in Japan. The bike looks as though it hasn't run in at least 15 years, but it's all there, for the most part, and it hasn't been bastardized with chopper parts or hacks to the frame.
I'm missing the front fender and rear turn signals, but those like like easy parts to find on ebay.

Any tips you can offer would be a big help. I know there are always some secrets that long time owners know, and newbies have to figure out, so.....

Have any good parts sources? I got a tip over the weekend that there's a place in Chatsworth that has "hundreds" (source's words) of CB 750 parts bikes. I have yet to check it out, though.

OK, the bike is now in my possession! I've made a list of parts I need. Does anyone have a good source for used parts like tanks and fenders? I mean besides ebay. Even bolts to hold certain parts on are missing. Where do I find those?

My bike came with big bag of rusted bolts, and many missing. You can find parts fiche diagrams on sites like this:

The bolt sizes are given in the parts description list, then you simply order them online from bolt suppliers.

Your local Ace or True Value hardware store will have a selection of metric fasteners in their aisles.  You can even get chrome ones.  Be careful about thread pitch, honda screws are mostly fine pitch.
