71 750 cafe start up video
« on: October 04, 2009, 05:48:20 PM »
ok guys just started my cafe for the first time. only issue im having is she seems to have a knock. but it almost sounds like a loud tick coming from one of the valves. i ended up having the head rebuild and had to put one set of rings in it. i adjusted the valves before it went in. but everyone knows it sometimes isnt perfect the first time. so my plan is to go back through them. but if someone could watch the vid and tell me if you think its worse than the valves

Wow !, looks like a very nice build...the motor tho'...I would not run it as there plainly is something wrong. Probably need to re-do the valve clearances by the book and making certain #1 cylinder ( starting point ) is at TDC on compression stroke....
If your sure it's a carb problem; it's ignition,

i went out today and re checked my valve clearances they were a little on the loose side. after i went through them all started it back up and no more bad nosies. just a tad tick like it should be.
