Slip on automotive oil filter
« on: October 05, 2009, 09:48:07 PM »
I am hella lazy and I hate the black rubber o-rings.

Where do I get the converters to make the cb accept automotive type filters?

The Clymer manual's performance section sugest "Dixie and Monotrack" have adaptors for the cb, but I don't think eather company still exists.

It's also a plate, automotive filters are smaller than the sealing area where the old housing went.  Plate seals to the motor, then the new filter seals to the plate.

Question:

Mine (CB750K5) came with oil cooler of unknown origin and spin-on oil filter.
Where can I find replacements?
The bolt size is the same as the stock (which I use currently).

Thanks.

On all my builds I use the spin-on for the VFR750.

Randakk - the GL1000 guy - sells one.  It looks nice.  He even provides a list of spin on filters that will work.  Here's the link:  http://www.randakks.com/Engine%20Parts.htm

Hope this helps.
