or get a solid state Vreg from www.oregonmotorcycleparts.com ;) i love mine... it charges GREAT!

Hondaman needs to get into this field also  ;)

I think you're the tenth one to tell me this...it's actually on my "list". There's 3 items ahead of it: I may have some time here, finally, to work on this stuff!

Thanks Hondaman for the info but Ill be no good as a tester as I in one week I am going to Japan for 3.5 months. Ill need to get back to this ignition issue in September 2009.

As always your help is much appreciated. This info about ignition switches should be added to the FAQ or to Hondamans thoughts. Good info for everyone.

cheers
Andy

YOu can test it on mine. I have a 78F

I'd better draw it up into a schematic and post it here: somehow I've described it wrong or something, because someone who tried it found it became an electric latch. (Once it is turned on, it won't turn off, that sort of thing.) So, I'll draw this up, scan it, and post it here.

I used to have to do this to the CB750s of old because of touring accessories like driving lights, extra taillites, and stereos that riders would add: it would melt the original keyswitches back then, when the 750 was the Touring King. Those of you who have K3 or earlier bikes know that the 1-fuse system makes all failures into the same one: dead bike! That was why I first made this mod.

Stay tuned...

Starting a new thread, so I can get moving with building the kits.
The description I gave to someone, who ended up with a screwy "electrical latch" arrangement, was for the wrong wiring harness: I described a fixup for a K0-K2 harness, not realizing he had a K4.  :-[  That change would, indeed, make a K3-K6 turn on and stay on...
