Hmm, pretty damn suspicious. It is clearly a K0, almost emaculate, but it is a terrible photo. Frankly, it looks like a poor photo of a detailed model. Feedback score of one, in Kentucky, but has a old Brit plate on the front fender. No VIN number listed which would be very important on this particular model and it's not like the VIN is hard to find. And the seller must be color blind to boot.  :D ;)
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.

Sent a quiry to the seller;

"Can you tell me the VIN number? It will be on a riveted plate on the right of the steering neck, or stamped into the steering neck on the left side. Thanks."

We'll see what he says.

That image is from page 162 of Classic Motorcycles by Roland Brown.  Most likely not the actual bike being sold.  Some people have a lot of nerve pulling stuff like this on ebay.  Someone is going to think that is the bike and have all sorts of headaches dealing with the guy when they find out the truth.

Mate,
I would be if I had the knowledge; one day maybe?
Where does the nickname Phaedrus come from?
As you can see I was very clever with my name; my real name is John Smith. ;)
Jim.

Phaedrus is the main character from the book Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance.  It is the nikcname that my wife decided to use when refering to me in her blog.  When I got my own blog from the same service, I took that name as my own and it has been my online monkier for about 3 years now.  I am nowhere near as smart as the Phaedrus from the book, it was a nickname that was applied to me though, so I took it with pride.

Its definatly not a 1981registration bike. The ebay picture is red the true picture from the Honda book is gold and the bike is described as colour" Blue".

Phaedrus, your not a nerd. Your just saved some poor schmo from getting ripped off.  ;D I hammered off an email to eBay just now about it. Lets see just what this fool gets. I can not believe some dip bidded it over 1,200.

Now this fool adds

THIS IS NOT A PICTURE OF THE ACTUAL BIKE BEING SOLD..BUT SIMILAR/ I DO NOT AHAVE A PICTURE OF THE BIKE

I also hammered a courtesy letter of to Roland Brown to inform them of thier copyright infringement. Just one photographer/biker to another. I HATE image stealers.  >:(

Wow!  The shmo who originally had the high bid retracted after the seller admitted the picture was not real.  On the bid history page it shows his retraction and that his maximum bid was $5,000!!  I'll be really surprised is this auction runs the full course without the seller or ebay pulling it.

Click on  the number of bids and you`ll see that one person has already retracted their bid of $5,000.00  :o

He says " this is not a picture of the bike , but similar ".I sure as hell wouldn`t bid on it sight unseen.

It probably looks like this `82

I am sure it does not look that good. With the $5,000 bid retraction over changed description - it is the kiss of death for this auction. I see his reserve is somewhere about $1,200. I would not give $1,200 for a 40's Indian Scout sight unseen. Weren't 81's DOHC anyway? So this is not even close....... When this guy gets real drunk at the pub, maybe then his 81 rat looks like a ultra lovely KO.

1981 CB750 ?????
Sure doesn`t look like an `81 to me ::)

Looks like a 1970 CB750 for European market, but it has the K2 type HM341 exhausts. Also the tailight looks like the 1968 US type that was carried on in Europe but I never saw it on a CB750 before.
