Stopped by the dealership tonight to pick up some supplies and saw something like one of these in person.

It is one ugly bike.  I mean butt-spankin' ugly.  It looks like a scooter with a bench seat on it.  Not sure what modle it was, though.  Really close to this.

Well I was sitting there thinking to myself, "Why would Honda build a low tech (SOHC, or whatever we're gonna call it) V twin sports bike, (or sports/tourer perhaps, not that anyone could sit on that pillion seat for too long, methinks) when it dawned on me that once again, Honda, instead of any kind of inspiration, have just built a cheaper alternative to Ducati's successful low tech V twin "bread and butter" bikes, with a bit of BMW styling thrown in.

Maybe their new marketing slogan should be, "If you can't afford a Duke or a BMW, just buy one of these"......... ::)
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)

Was it the DN-01?

Here's more pics of the VFR.

From reading that, I'll bet you saw a DN-01, too.

The new VFR looks much better (except for that can...):

Yep...that's the one, though the picture you have there is a flattering one.

Terrible looking bike, I cannot believe that Honda will ruin the legendary VFR range with this creation. The exhaust matches the rest of the bike.....vulgar.

Then again look at what they did to the Blade. they need to secure Mr Tambourini as a consultant on future projects.

I like it...well like is too strong of a word...I don't mind it I should say. I don't understand how anyone can hate it...it just looks...blah. Nothing special to me. Just another bike that i'll forget what it's called, i'll see one parked somewhere and think, I wonder what model that is? Then i'll ride away and forget all about it not caring anymore lol...then i'll get stopped and asked "who makes Norton?!" for the millionth time.

Maybe the BHP (Bolivian Highway Patrol) will think the design is perfect?  Camo paint, twin machine guns and steel Ammo side bags might be a great improvement.

My personal opinion is that front end styling is perfect for herding cows.  That's it!  It was designed especially for the Buffalo Bob!!!

Do they still practice seppuku at Honda Japan?   ::)  RR
