Got the ownershop today ,thanx for all the replies,I called kingston and kicked up f..k,got a letter from Honda saying bike was never registered ,took it with all the other info i had ,GOT  IT!!!

Hi Does anyone know how i could get any information i writing re my  76 cb750k

ser #CB750-xxxxxx  manufactured in japan. There seems to be no record of this bike ever being in canada or USA at least registered ,i've got a  bill of sale from the guy who bought it from an estate sale,and a copy of the previous owners death certificate with a letter from his brother who was executor to his will ,but that's not enough to get an ownership in ontario canada. i was hoping to call someone in Honda?

Local police have checked and found the bike is not stolen but they also say they have no record on file of this vin#

Any help advice would be greatly appreciated.

I would try your local Honda dealer for access to "Official Honda" vin records.  They have to do title work everytime the sell a bike, new or used.  Another avenue might be an independant Title service.  They trace titles all the time.

Make your request for a vehicle registration directly to the Ministry of Transportation, not through a local driver and vehicle office.

That way you will get official recognition of your RIGHT to own and register the vehicle.

Your request should be to the minister and mention you are being denied this right.

thanx tower i've spent almost a yr getting nowhere, local honda dealership clares in fonthill are looking at the bike today at 2pm and hopefully giving me some info
they have done a search and nothing comes up, the engine has been changed and i'm told it is a new replacement from japan? but has no serial#or tags stamped where it would normally go

appreciate the advice.

In Ontario it is pretty easy to register a vehicle without the ownership papers.  You need to prepare a simple paper describing the make, model and year of manufacture, listing from whom/how you obtained the vehicle, and listing the serial numbers.  Then get the paper "notarized" to certify that you have been truthful.  Also include the price you paid, unless you have a copy from seller that states the amount, because that's what they'll base the sales tax on to be charged at the licensing office.  I have done exactly that for a CB160 where I didn't have the ownership papers, and my local licensing office issued me the registration with this documentation.  In fact, they were the ones who told me what was needed.

Thanx Guy's got a letter from the local Honda dealer stating the motorcycle was never registered by Honda North america,and said they see no reason new ownership should not be given, took italong with affidavit back to Local DVLoffice and they said they want some sort of proof from police or customs motorcycle was not stolen or brought into canada illegally,even though their records on file only go back to 1979.so monday will try the local cop shop to run the vin and hopefully get something in writing saying not stolen,no records on file,they have told me this previously when i bought bike.
just a lot of bull#$%*,because i want to use the correct vin# that is on bike.

all i know is this bike is well used,  i have no idea where it came from and prob never will.

It may show as not registered in US because many states do not care about bikes that have not been re-registered. In Minnesota most everything that hasnt been registered in 10 years is purged from the system and thus becomes super easy to get a new title for.

Same goes for Michigan, there are no records on file unless it has been registered in the last 10 years. I purchased an 87 camaro in 2005. the guy who owned it originally, lost his title. He still had the registration and plate records from 1992 when he last registered it. The state didn't ask for them and didn't want to see them, they just needed a purchase order and ran a vin check with the state police, and I was issued a new title.

If you're close to MI, I'm not too far from the border, I would have no problem helping you out. We could get it registered in MI under my name, pay $25 instead of the $15 to get an instant title, and then I would sign it right over to you. I'm sure you could then register it in Ontario.

Let me know if it doesn't work out, we could always do this. It would save you the 200-400 for a title service.

My gut feeling.. it is a grey market bike.. Is speedo in kms, miles or both?

 If it has never been registered in N America, that could be a big problem if it is not an export model, but age is in its favour..

 So if that is the case, you will have to actually IMPORT it legally...

 or find the closest serial number frame with reggie that you can & put everything on that frame.. Had a guy in Ont willing to sell me a 750 frame a while back.. (I figured, shipping to BC was a dealbreaker)

I would disagree with the skepticism expressed.  As I stated earlier, in Ontario I've found it really easy to register an unregistered vehicle of this age.  Sure, its supposed to have been a model previously sold in the country, but they (the ministry) have bigger fish to fry and as long as their 20 year's or so records don't list it as stolen or already registered - they won't give blink.  In fact, its so easy that I could probably get papers myself tomorrow for this bike, using the information already posted; but why would I want to do that without actually owning the bike - that would be fraud.  (But that's why you should never post your actual numbers!)

the little ~ means "and following". The next engine # range is for a 1977 CB750K and would be CB750-2700001~
