Bearings on a GL stem
« on: October 09, 2009, 09:36:07 AM »
Anyone know if the bearing measurment for the tapered bearings will be the same from a 75 cb750k to the GL front end? Not sure if the washer/spacer would be the same?

I know when I put the GL stem in my 76 cb750k frame, I used the CB750 tapered bearings and they fit fine. I used the washer that came with the bearing kit...and everything works great...well as great as it can work sitting unfinished in my garage lol. I'll double check this info when I get home though.

Just curious which washer? Thick or thin?

when i did mine......my bike is a 76 cb750f.....i used a 76 gl1000 front end......i had to use the top bearing from the gl1000 and the bottom from the cb750....i have heard there a few minor differences in the triple tree year to year on the cb750s.
