I've looked can't find vendor for CB750 wheel bearings
« on: October 10, 2009, 08:54:57 AM »
Hello: Ideas for traditional vendor, like motogrid, or bikebandit, someone I can order from, for double sealed rear wheel bearings for CB750.

Likely they are available locally from a bearing supply, but I'm not free to travel around for a week or two. I could order them in by then.

Yamiya shows NSK bearings but can't tell if they are doublel sealed. I have sent them an inquiry.
TIA.

You can order SKF from MSC Supply. Cream of the crop!

Pricey!  Will these just last longer or are there other benefits?

bikebandit.com has 'em, great prices and service in my experience.

6304 - $16
6305 - $17

i was in a hurry once and stopped into a local bearing shop for a rear wheel bearing, had an skf for $54.  since i disass/lube wheel bearings in the off-season, i cheaped out.

The SKF metals are nearly as hard as the old Timkens, which I still have in my 750 after 100,000 miles. I have no detectable wheel looseness (none) from those bearing, yet! I paid $40 in 1972 to get them, so the SKF prices don't seem out of line, to me. But, I'm picky, and like a tight-handling bike...
