CB750 Starter Removal

I know I've seen some threads on here explaining how you just need to work at it until you find the right angle to pull the starter out and it will just come out.  Well after trying to get a good grip on it for about an hour or two and find that magical angle I finally had a brilliant idea.  There is a threaded hole on the end of the starter in the center that doesn't have a bolt in it.  Simply take one of the 2 bolts that you should have already removed that were holding the starter in place.  Screw the bolt into this unused center hole and grab onto the bolt which will give you an excellent grip to pull the rotor up and back.  The starter just slid right out when I did this so I thought I'd share with the rest of you.

Thanks for the tip... Did  or do you have to remove the cam tensioner. im trying to avoid this if possible

did you have to remove cam tensioner and did the starter go back in the same way

Yes, you need to remove the cam chain tensioner. It probably wouldn't hurt to have to motor in the position for adjusting the chain before removing it, and to avoid turning the motor while it is removed, just to be safe.
