Hey all, there's an ad I found for a stator that states "very clean, but has one broken brush below the replace mark.  Broken when removing from bike."

Can I just order an alternator brush from https://www.partsnmore.com/cat_index.php?model=cb650_sohc&category=electrical (second from the bottom)
and then just replace and all will be fine?  The brush in only $5, and the stator I can get for cheap.  I'm just wondering if I will be fine if I assume the rest of the stator is in good condition

Brushes were a consumable item like oil and filters so yes as long as the generator tests out fine electricaly you can change the brush BUT i would replace the pair not just one

Thanks for reply.  I'm a noob when it comes to bike mechanics.  But, this project bike should help learn more!
