I just installed a set of the Japanese-made Daiichi points on a K7 engine. They timed up OK for idle, but added +3 degrees advance at full RPM (2500+). This won't hurt the engines, but is indicative that the geometry is still off a little bit. It's a far cry better than the Chinese-made Daiichi ones.
But...the cosmolene is a real PITA to get off these points! I ended up using a points file dipped in acetone and then lacquer thinner, just to get the sticky stuff off. It can stop my Transistor Ignition from running, because it is a good insulator, while the points will still run (kind of...) if just connected to the coils directly. After I finally got them clean, they worked fine with the Ignition box.
