Hey Jay, what's the cost on the machine work for the 1000cc kit?  Re-sleeving, boring the top case, and bore/hone the bores?

BTW, on the F-head rebuilds.  Do the new guides and retainers solve the problems that the OEM head had?  Pretty good longevity on the F-heads now?  And if I wanted one but didn't have a good F-head core, what would that tack on to the price?

Thanks man

Bore the block and install sleeves, surface, bore & hone to finish, plus bore cases $309.00

We use our guides and titanium retainers on the F2 rebuilds. No problems now.  I don't have any head cores. Perhaps someone on the board might have one for sale.

Thanks

Jay

i know who i'm going to be getting my bog bore kit from when i eventually get mine built. any idea how much horsepower i can expect with that 836 kit? running through stock carbs with airbox, k+n replacement filter and larger air intake holes. i'm probably going to do unshrouding of the valves and some mild port work.

@bucky katt, it depends most on your port job.
Usually, you should get between 69-76hp at the rear wheel.

Big Jay (or anyone else that can answer),
I'm very interested in that 836 kit.  But would I also need extra parts, like connecting rods, cam chain, primary chain, etc.?  I know that these extras wouldn't hurt, but how necessary are they?  If they are necessary, could we get an "extended kit" that includes those too?

I would also need some boring work.  How much would you charge for that for the 836?

The other option I'm considering is CycleX.  I like their "git kit" (850 cc) but wish they offered an 836 version.

Just trying to get my ducks in a row.  Thanks.

We don't feel you need rods with the 836, but we will add genuine Carrillos for a total price of $1925.00
