Topic: CX500 fork spring dimensions

Just curious if anyone knows the dimensions of the fork springs for a 1980 CX500 Classic?

I know what mine are but am curious to know if they are actually the original forks...I will save you guys the details as to why etc.

Just wondering....if anyone knows please let me know!

I checked the ChopperCharles forums but they didn't have much (surprise!) info other than the forks them selves (no info on the springs)

The only thing the service manual says is the fork spring free length.


          Standard         Service Limit
upper:   98.2mm            90.1mm
lower:   461.4mm          449.5mm

Thanks anyways Woodard...I emailed Progressive to get their thoughts but nothing back yet. I hope it is all just a mix up and they sent the wrong ones compared to the part number but oh well...guess I will wait and see. Although since I got these from another member they likely won't do anyting for me directly anyways but atleast if I knew the deal I could re-sell them to someone who I knew they would fit.
