Long wait for parts from Yamiya?
« on: June 03, 2010, 12:55:18 AM »
I placed my first order with Yamiya today, and was wondering how long they usually take for shipping from Japan (I'm in CA). The  only option I had when I ordered my new handlebar switch was "Express Mail".

Domo arigato!.

I just received 2 orders and got them faster than ebay items shipped from the US.

Included were a set of those sweet pipes.  ;D

I can order parts the same day some from the east coast some from yamiya. I always get yamiyas first. When I ordered my seat I ordered it on a Friday and it was on my door step on Monday.

Yes, I must chime in here too. I get my Yamiya parts faster than I get stuff shipped in the USA. They are very customer oriented.

Me too.  Out of at least a half a dozen orders I don't think any of them took more than 4 days.

They're shipping charges are quite high but it gets here quick. Like someone said before, Japan to Canada is less than one week.
This project started in confusion and will end in disarray.

Japan - Germany: six days
Suffolk/UK - Hamburg/Germany: two months
Yamiya and JP Post left me speechless because of their speed - as did Royal Mail with their  ;)
The only two things that made me stop ordering parts in Japan are shipping costs and my Japanese beeing even worse than my English :D

Ah, and we've got cmsnl.com just around the corner. They deliver in one to two weeks.

Thanks to all for the replies. I've already gotten an email from them with a tracking number. I look forward to my new part!

Takes 6 days usually from Japan to me here in YYC.

Problem is, when you order from Yamiya it's so exciting (cause your you know your getting the cool jewellery)  that the 6 days are very loooooong.

There is a Shipping option from Japan called SAL, I beleive it stands for Surface Air Lift. It's about 1/3 the cost of the Air Priority that Yamiya uses, and it take 2-3 weeks for stuff to get here.

I wish Yamiya offered SAL shipping, it works well. No tracking number though, that's probably why they don't.

Got my switch today from Yamiya. Took 6 days from Japan - amazing! The part cost $90, and the shipping was $20, for a total of $110. The same part is on ebay for $179. I think I did OK :)
