Expected price for a CB350F?
« on: October 12, 2009, 09:31:20 PM »
For the last year or so, my brother has ridden a 77 550f as his primary means of transportation. I always thought is was a pretty nifty bike, but it just wasn't quite right. Looking at it overall, it had wonderful styling, nice performance, and a silky smooth engine(before it died, that is). With that in mind I've always looked at 70s CBs on Craigslist and such, but it wasn't until I saw a local '73 CB250F that I realized what I was missing. This thing is beautiful! It's out of my price range, but upon doing some research, I think I want to keep my eyes pealed for one in the near future. What do this things usually go for in decent shape? I wouldn't mind a bike that needs a little work, but I don't want a money pit. Assuming some cosmetic blemishes and decent mechanical health, what would a 350F go for?

Kind of depends where you are.  Northest somewhere, cheap maybe.  Here on the Florida Panhandle... good luck.

Depends on condition - and exhaust.  I paid $1000 for mine 4 years ago in good running and ok cosmetic shape.  Spent about $750 on cosmetic / mechancial stuff (Tank, side panels, various fastners, brakes, shocks, carb rebuild).  Spend $900 on a clean original 4-4 exhaust (unbolted when new and stored in someones dry attic for 35 years).  Another 200 for new rims and spokes yet to be installed. Still need to replace all the chassis bearing / bushings.  3K all in - but I put 3000 miles on it this year,7 states,  and it never missed a beat.  Draws all kinds of attention to boot.

Probably somewhere in the neighborhood of $500 to $2500.

just keep your eyes peeled for what u like and be patient one will turn up i had my heart set on a 750 and almost paid too much for one but i held off and ended up with a nice 750 and a parts bike that might be able to restored for 800 bucks... a safe guess would be a grand for a fairly problem free bike but not in out of this world condition...

Just missed one here in Michigan on CL for $200. I'd say $500-$1200 is normal unless it has original exhaust, then a bit more.
