Another fraudulent eBay - switch item 280405684967
« on: October 11, 2009, 03:37:43 PM »
So I’m coming down to the wire bidding on a K3 –K4 switch, 353-341-671, and start counting the wires.  This seller pictures a Honda box next to the common 35300-369-671 after market and claims it’s the rare switch.  I know the switch doesn’t belong to the box because it has eight wires and a mysterious black red stripe that doesn’t belong.  I have few of these.  eBay doesn’t seem to be a reliable source can anyone help?

I send a message to the seller:
"Why do you show a box for 35300-341-671 and a switch with eight wires and black red like 35300-369-671?"
And the seller almost immediately responds:
"its the that the switch cane in.."
I assume the seller is nervous and respond:
"The factory seal was broken if that is true. And you are selling the wrong switch."
I sent a complaint to eBay and was forwarded to safeharbor:
"Can't retract bid.  Itenm is fraudulent and seller is informed.  Please check California law."
I get a generic safeharbor response, but it does acknowledge the complaint is for fraudulent practice.  Most law states if the seller is informed of a material fact and completes the contract, it is intentional fraud.

I am anxious to see what eBay law does, since it's not made by common people.

Thank you very much.  Special order from Honda and Honda won't do it.   The web page needs to be updated.  But thank you any help is appreciated.  That price is actually resonable for the genuine thing.

Thank you.  I buggered mine.  I'm not very good at soldering and the starter button is shorted.  I can't find a source to rebuild and there's no source for new, only substitutes.  The switch was used in 1973 for CBCB550 and 750K3 and 1974 for CB750K4.

I have the bike propted up in my back yard and everything thing else on the front, waiting, is as close to new as possible.  The switch is a problem.   And the weather will quit soon.   And the holidays will start.  And the tax season.  And there I am with a rusty peice of metal missing a switch.  Stuckage.

Help, please.

So the seller sends:
"would you know what it is"
And I send :
"35300-341-671 is that which is unattainable.  It is not what you are selling."

The seller is skrgrl101.

Why would anyone question a person with the source information.  Duh, it's a replacement.

BTW somebody with 8,500 feedback bought this for $114.  I bought this crap for $43 and the Honda is available at Babbits.   What do you say, I say the odds are good, the buyer will list this as genuine Honda and part number and use the same picture?

Yeah, I think they are going for about $120 at Western Hills Honda- look them up.
I'll need to get one too, Nippon said they just discontinued it.

I have a bunch of new buttons and cases.  The wires are bad and I shouldn't be allowed to own a soldering gun.  Western Hills didn't have inventory.

The button tabs on my K4 were bad and the button could fall out.  I bought the switch for the button only. This is a NOS switch that was still in the bag and box. I took the button out and put it in the switch on my bike. So if you have a good button, you can have a complete nos right switch. Let me know if you are interested.

The starter button. I have the button, but the tab at the base is worn or broken and the button can come or fall out of the switch. If your button is in good shape, then you have a nice NOS switch for your K   I will take a picture of it and post it. Give a few minutes and I'll get my camera.

You can buy the button alone from Honda, didn't need to buy the whole switch.

I was originally going to replace the entire switch, but when I got into it, I realized that my switch was in very good condition and did not need to be replaced, just the button.

Thank you, always interested a left switch.

The CB750K4 switches fit my CB550K1 project.  The PO became ill and parked it for several years.  He was very adamant about the cover that stopped beng a cover a fews years before.  The bars are bent on the 550, so I know its a need.   The 750 left switch had a broken vinyl tube and I had to slice it to get it out of the rusty bars.

I'm doing what I need to match the wires, so I don't have a mess with a forgotten crosswalk the next time I work on the front.  I believe the K3 and K4 had dead spot to cancel the buzzer while the K1 and K2 had a button to cancel.  Later models had no option, except remove the buzzer.

Thank you for the help.
