Sorry to bring this back from the dead, but why use springs at the head interface vs. the OEM split collar arrangement? I have an aftermarket exhaust on my bike that uses some slip fit connections and springs to keep it together. But at the head interface I just reused the OEM split collars and installed new copper crush gaskets. Is adding spring hooks and springs for that head joint simply a belts and suspenders approach? Or is there something wrong with the split collar arrangement (besides weight)? +1 on the beehive springs with swivel ends. They're great.
