550 supersport tank gas line configureation
« on: October 14, 2009, 05:29:10 PM »
i'm trying to switch my 550k tank to a supersport tank and i'm confused around how the gas line is configured. on my "k" tank there was one line running out of the petcock. it went in to a filter and then split in two lines at the carbs in two different places. i'm trying to run the super-sport tank that has two lines out of the petcock. should i just run two separate lines with filters into the carbs or should i run the two lines into one and then split again at the carbs. make sense?

the super-sport tank has two lines out of the petcock, just run two separate lines with filters into the carbs.

if you must run inline filters at all.

The Fuel tap outlets varied with the year.  Two outlet types fed the center of each carb pair.  Single outlet types fed a "T" fitting.  Don't need no stinkin' inline filters if the one inside the tank hasn't been buggared up and is working as Honda intended.

However, if you work in the department of redundancy department, you'll feel soo much better about having multiple filter backups.  In that case, use at least three for each carburetor.  Gas will be so clean you can eat off it.  (Or so I've heard.)
