Buying New Parts -
« on: December 13, 2005, 04:27:20 AM »
Hey Guys,
(Already had a look in the FAQ suppliers list ....but cant read much other than English and Irish.....
Trying to buy some parts for a 750 K1
Entire exhaust system including Heat sheilds, seat etc.
DSS Seems to be the "Most Competative" so far £476 + Vat...
Considering my location (Ireland) for shipping costs..... so don't mention Wallmart  :)
Am I as well off to stick with DSS or are there any others nearby like CMS that are "MORE competativly priced"
or even things like ....is the VAT cheaper in the NL than the UK.
Paul.

Paul,
I think if you export from Holland to Ireland there shouldn't be any VAT type tax! This could save 15+%?

CMS charge 19% Vat.

Seat, Pipes, Shields.....
DSS  Euro ~1215
CMS  Euro ~1250

or 1250 cans of Dutch Gold  :-\

One of the core benefits of the "common market" is that there are no import/export duties between members and as a consumer you pay the local price with the local VAT.  You can then import to Ireland with no additional taxes as import duties are paid when the goods are brought into the EU (ie by CMSNL).

Probably negligable...The UK is closer but in sterling. (They'll round off any differences in the Euro anyway)
I will however find out.

Or go for the cans...hic

I buy all my new Honda parts from www.servicehonda.com . I'm not sure what they'd charge you to ship them, but their prices are the lowest I've seen anywhere. It would be worth a look. You must know what the exact Honda part numbers are, though. I recently bought all four pipes, shields, hardware, etc. for less than $900 US...give them a look.
