Cool thing is, my Daughter has told a friend of ours that SHE thought it was "Cute" the way I was acting about this young woman and SHE (Karla) really hoped it worked out because I was so happy now. 8) Is THAT not SOMETHING, or what? ;)  Karla usually is talking about how weird I am or how goofy I'm acting or some such. :D

:)  Oh yeah, I agree1 8) Just yesterday, she said she wish the sun was shining and I told her that it might be dreary outside (it was cloudy w/ a few showers), but she made the sun shine inside ME! ;) She looked at me and said, "You're so sweet!" 8) She has definitely got my mind on HER, most all of each and every day! Sure makes Life Worth Living! :) I mean like, I didn't see her for a few days (the restaurant where she works was closed for remodeling and she went camping with her folks) and when I did see her again, I gave her a flower and a card, which she thought was so sweet. Fact is, when I don't see her regularly, I MISS HER like crazy.

When Brenda passed away, I was like, "Take care of everybody and everything" and try to move on. Wasn't thinking that there was much left for me. And then, this young lady started paying attention "To Me!" Suddenly, I realized that I REALLY NEEDED THAT! I had just resigned to the fact that, for me it would be the Bachelor's life and THAT WAS IT! But, NOW, I have something to look forward to again AND, even though Brenda and I Had a LOVE that was FOREVER, I have an INCREDIBLE feeling that has been generated by Jana! I'm NOW having Feelings that I don't EVER remember experiencing before! I've even mentioned this to friends who knew both Brenda and myself, because I felt kinda funny about HAVING this kind of a feeling with yet another woman. I didn't want to disrespect Brenda's memories or anything. My friends told me that they were Happy for me and not to worry because they knew I loved Brenda and that Brenda would WANT me to get back out there! I just know that what Brenda and I had, was Special. And yet, I also feel like what is starting up between Jana and me, is special too, in another way! 8) Now, when I look in a mirror, it sure makes me wonder what Jana sees though. ::) But then, when I see HER, I feel years lifted off of me. :)  Brenda's family doesn't know anything about Jana, cause I really don't think they'd understand and I don't want to cause them any more pain. They are about 3hrs away. I don't go there much, because when I have, my Mother-in-law gets all broken up about Brenda's passing and it doesn't do either of us any good. Sie likes to see and hear from us, but now, it just throws it right in her face that Brenda's gone and she's still having off and on problems about my Daddy-in-law's passing back in 2003.

Sorry, I didn't mean to ramble on like this, I guess I just needed to talk. :-\

I STILL Happy though,  Bill ;)

Thanks Jeff, There are SOME things that ya just can't prepare for, no matter how many times you've experienced it. :-\ It's been something to deal with (and I know, in my heart, that there will still be some times in the future that I will have some problem), but now, I have someone to help me AND for ME to help as well (in times of need). She is really SOMETHING! 8)

More good stuff:  A fellow came over and bought the 2 650 Yamahas I had left (a 73' and a 75') and he came out today and picked them up! 8) He'd already paid for them, just needed to make room at home to put them in place. Does THAT ever sound familiar? :D Seems like a TRADITION among folks like us, huh? ??? :D So, slowly, I'm getting more space. I might actually get to where my place is even SOMEWHAT organized. :)                                                 Or Not! ::)

While I'm NOT as DOWN as I was before, but I'm not Dancing! :-\

Seems that the sweet young lady has NO intentions of leaving her Boy Friend, Like I was told AND doesn't remember telling ME that. Wants to keep us (my Dad, Karla and me as Special Friends. like we were before I thought WE had come to an understanding! Well, I can't COMPLETELY drop her because she REALLY DID help me through some tough times, just by being there and comforting me. But my trips to that restuarant will be less now, I was going at lest 2 times a day, that SHE worked! AND going at least 4-5 days aweek. I was spending some serious money, not counting her tips. Guess I'll just take care of My Dad, Karla and Joey. Then IF anything pops up, maybe I should start off with, Hello, I'm Bill. Have you got as boyfriend or are you married? ::)  Yeah, THAT'D be a real turnoff, huh? ??? :(  Oh well, I've got folks to take care of AND bikes to ride and work on.

Sam, you're just a damned old degenerate  ;) I'm proud to call you my friend. Watch those side pockets on dismount.

Bill,

Do NOT take Sam seriously. He'll get yer ass in trouble in a heart beat! At least you now know there is life for you. Just don't get in too big a hurry and do not crowd someone. Make sure you give them space. If/when it happens, it happens. If you get too despondent or depressed I'd be happy to take that beautiful CBX off your hands you lucky SO_ and you won't have to worry over it.  ;)  ;D

Not to worry Jerry. :)  I tried NOT getting in a hurry (or at least not letting HER see that I was in a hurry). I didn't start making move until she had me thinking that the relationship between her and the boyfriend was on it's way down (and almost over). Now, I HATE to be the one to tell YOU this Jerry, but the CBX is one of the things that I CAN depend on and don't intend to give THAT up! ::) ;)

Hey Jerry, I noticed your "tag line" quite awhile back and though it was GOOD! 8)

I'd hate to push my trouble (the CBX) off on YOU, Jerry. Instead, I'll put myself out and just hang onto it.  ::)  Don't want anyone else to have to DEAL with an old bike like that one. ;D Besides, the CBX deserves someone as mixed up as I am. ;) Not that I wouldn't mind checking out your 100hp Scoot! :o

I wasn't dealing with a woman MY age, I was going younger, which (in turn) was making ME feel Younger as well! ::) 8) ;) While I'm not LOOKING (I wasn't looking THIS time either), I'm NOT going to turn away a seemingly good prospect either! I might be getting UP THERE, but I'm not DEAD either! ;) Seriously, I had given into the fact that I would just pick up, take care of my responsibilities (my Dad, Karla, Joey and my Dad and My own bills and such) and do some things with bikes. I figured that THAT would be IT! :-\ But, getting SOME attention from ANOTHER woman, made me realize that I STILL needed THAT! Like I said, I'm NOT going on the search, but, if the situation presents itself, I'm gonna give it a shot. ;) In the meantime, I'll try to take care of things, work with some of my bike projects (the Super Hawk, 650C, etc) and ride the CBX and GPZ every chance I get. 8) ;)   BTW, that gal seems to have concern about things, so I'm giving her some FREE time AND IF there's ENOUGH concern, she MIGHT come around. AND, if she doesn't, I'm out of there (not Calico County, but won't be going FOR HER) completely.  ;)

Well, hadn't been in that restaurant in a few days and took my Dad and Karla there for late Breakfast this morning. She (Jana) was there and seated us, all smiles as if nothing had happened. We went and sat down, with her taking their order (she knows what I want for breakfast or any meal , as far as that goes). After taking care of getting our drinks, she made a comment about my not smiling (I used to) and asked why not. I simply said, "Got no reason!" I mean, aw what's the use! I was liking it (not only because it seemed like I was getting someone with similar interests, who I just might have ended up having a really close relationship with and possibly marrying. Yeah, I just got TOO close, it seems) because she was good to us (as a whole) and was learning the things that we usually ordered (especially my Dad, who never changes whats to eat. I've really got mixed feelings on this, because she DID help me emotionally, when I was really down. And I'm grateful for that. I hope I'm not making this sound like some Soap Opera, because I'm not trying to do that. I'm just trying to figure out what the hell I'm going to do. It's been 40years since I was in the position of being single and when you've had that much time with the one you LOVE and LOSE them, It Really messes you up!

It is an extremely difficult time when life’s situation changes.
Losing a loved one or the breakdown of a relationship can be and is a very testing time.
Trying to find a positive in amongst all of this is even more testing.
Being who you are or more to the point, rediscovering who you are after losing a partner can give a feeling of achievement for yourself which is a big plus.
Vulnerability is not uncommon in these types of situations.
Jerry’s words in an earlier post are right in the money.
Just let it happen – there’s no hurry.
Let whoever it may be come to you and give them plenty of space.
As human beings, wanting to be loved and giving love is a natural thing for us all.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with that – it is a good thing and there should be more of it in this world that we live in today.
I’m sure that you know where I’m coming from here.
I believe that being an individual (ie rediscovering oneself) after losing a partner of so many years, widens the opportunity to move forward.
It takes time and it is also self empowering.
Live for the day and keep those memories vivid.
It helped me.
Mick

Bill,

Really sounds like you're turning that corner. Now you can see around the other side. Just remember you mentioned 40 years. I gotta say it ain't at all like it was 40 years ago. Taking a 4 cylinder and turboing it to make 400hp just wouldn't have made sense 40 years ago. We'd cry with embarrassment now if that 4 cylinder pulled up besides our big block brute unsophisticated 440 six pack and made us look like silly old geezers. That just ain't right! You're starting over from scratch and you have a lot of discoveries to make. And there's nothing wrong with discovering something younger if it jumps out at you.  ;)  My wife is 16 years younger than I. May have to trade her in on a younger model.  ;D Just kidding. Don't think a guy my age is gonna grab a 30 something even with a bag full of $100 bills. Let Jana be your friend, not girlfriend and flash her that big smile. Friends are good.

  • Tryin' To Slow Down "Time"!

Mick & Jerry, I know what you all are saying has nothing but truth in it and I am trying to do just that. I felt like I was in 7th Heaven and then, the bottom feel out. So, here I am, once again trying to pick up the pieces. I had really thought that I wouldn't be talking about things like this by now. I DO have to get it together, so I can also get on posting about OTHER things, instead of THIS. I KNOW that I've got to get it together so that I can finish what I've started with my Dad's Situation, take care of HIS business,
take care of my Daughter Karla, Take care of Joey (that I still work with), take care of MY OWN affairs AND YES, even take care of MYSELF! ;) Sure wish that Winter wasn't just around the corner. :-\  I feel that everyday that I can jump on a bike and get out on the road, will help put things behind me as well. I am SO looking forward to alot of that! I AM starting to get other things going. Our dishwasher kicked the bucket last June and the  washer/dryer stack unit has been having problems as well and the van needed tires, BIG TIME. I finally just mad myself sit down and take care of these things. Got the tires taken care of and the appliances are coming Tuesday. That'll help me to be able to concentrate on other things, like getting this house in order. Ha! If Brenda was too walk in here right now, I'd be in HOT Water! ;) Now, I know she's not coming back, but it'd be good to see her, even if she would be fussing! :) But anyway, there's just SO MUCH to do and like an idiot, I was SO FOCUSED on Jana, that I was neglecting things that I shouldn't have. I KNOW BETTER than that! It just seems SO UNREAL that she's GONE, you know? I hope it doesn't seem like I'm running this into the ground. You ALL have been So supportive and understanding. I'm Gonna go now, but KNOW that you all have helped. ;)
