I still have an Heathkit FM tuner my Dad built.  I have also owned some Ham Heathkit gear in the past.

Made a crystal radio from some Boy Scout instructions, as I recall.  Only dreamt about buying Heathkit.  I got a good laugh seeing that.  But I think computers had to be made with components from Lafayette or Radio Shack?

Don't be dissin the Heathkit.

My first computer was a Z-100   Still got some of the docs from that machine and the original Winchester disk in in my Display of Obsolete Computer Technology shelf

Still have a Heathkit portable black-and-white TV in my basement.  Still works AFAIK.  Built it when I was like 14.
