Very nice.. I will tell you trying not to nick or scratch mine is driving me nuts i wish I had had it done by a pro, I probably would not be so nervous about scratching it..

Hi Cliff,
I notice you don't have the rear brake shaft in the frame yet. As I recall on my last build, it was on of the last things I put on, after the center stand, swing arm, etc. and I had a hellava time getting it in there and hooking up the linkage. Its what I'll being doing first when I get to the frame on my current one. Just a heads up.

Thanks Mark! I learned that the hard way on my K1 - not a pleasant way to spend some time.
Scott, I'm still nervous and have put a couple of marks in it already. it's very hard not to.

Same here! I learned that in the 2008 winter, luckily this year I remembered to assemble it earlier in the process.

Some progress lately. Parts back from the paint shop after having them remove the runs they left in. I have the oil tank and lines installed, the swing arm, brake rod and brake torque bar, I guess it's called, and centre stand installed. I did install a brake rod that turned to be too short for the 750. I have no idea where that one came from as I have only 750 parts, or so I thought. Some paint touch up will be required.

Just for fun I assembled the top triple tree with the instruments to see how they looked.
The quality of the builds I see on this forum make a little nervous about posting these but here they are.

More. This will slow down a bit more as I have a son getting married in June and my parts/build budget is taking a bit of a hit.

Yea I hear that.. I have one in collage one with braces and a house to buy.. I feel your budget pain.. However she is looking mighty sweet and will be well worth the wait..

Cliff...not to get you worried but those are the wrong gauges on there if you want a complete restore.

Just kidding you...wanted to see you sweat a little there. It is looking fantastic and thanks for the great pics. Keep on doin' what you are doin' and it will turn out great. I can tell you now that when you get done it is going to look better than you expected. That happened to me too. With the detail you are doing it just happens. So keep it up...congrats!!!

Don't worry about the quality of your work, it looks plenty good from what I see. I learn from everyone here so don't stop posting (although I don't think you really will).

Thanks kap384! There's several of us playing with these old SOHC4's here on the south Island. So far I'm the only one doing a KO but my friends nearby are working on a 750 K4, 750 K3, a 550, a 450 and one just finished a CBX. The local Harley dealer has a CBX hillclimber and a restored CBX proudly on display in his store.

Haven't done much lately but have received the K0 tank trim strips from Yamiya, waiting for the rims to be rechromed, have a K1 shock and gas cap latch coming in the mail from a couple of forum members - thanks guys! Markb has motivated me to strip the heat shrink material I used off the main wiring loom to the headlight and the stop light switch. I had some proper black plastic tubing but I thought it looked pretty bulky, however it IS proper Honda stuff so it's now on the bike. I had to cheat a bit with the stop light switch wiring as I had to do some soldering on the sires first which made it difficult to use the full length of tubing. I have removed the tape from under the igintion switch too (what the heck was I thinking?). I more step towards completion.

Thanks Scott! As I get moving on this I sometimes want to go back to my "new" K1 to improve on what I did on it. So I guess in a way I have 2 projects on the go and trying to plan what's next. Isn't great?!

I'm flattered than my work was an inspiration for you. I'm never sorry about doing some of the little things. Other people may not notice but I know. And I'm thinking about things I want to go back and do on my K0 too. I guess they're never really done. Looking good!

They are never really done and you're 100% right. That's the attraction.
I like going back to a project to improve on something or because I've found just the right part for it. Everyday is a treasure hunt.
The research and learning about these bikes even after having one for almost 40 years - that's fun and humbling to see the depth of knowledge on this forum!
Being there in the beginning is priceless.
Redoing things because/when I messed up - not so much fun.
Redoing things after I learned a better way to do something, that's educational.
Sitting in the garage with a beer and just looking at the bikes and thinking "look what I done" is great.
Meeting and talking to people with the same addiction, now THAT'S FUN!

I get a kick out of you stating that you are shy about posting pics becasue of the quality of other builds on here...and then I open your pics, and am staring at a brand new K0 CB 750!

Modesty is the best policy.....but rest assured you are putting together a prom queen...without a doubt.

Every time I look at these resto threads, it makes me yearn to grab up a sweet K0-K6 to restore someday, before they are all gone, or too expensive to obtain.
