Don't know how many folks out there even heard of Dusty Springfield, but she was a BIG part of the rock and roll movement back in the 60's, British and an excellent voice.
Good looker too! ;) Anyway I'm looking for some recordings of her music and any assistance would be appreciated. Just let me know where &  how much. Here are the ones I really want to be on there.

I can't find them around here anywhere and thought I'd put it on here and see if anyone could help me locate them. ;)

What about LP's? I am sure you might be able to find some in decent condition at your local used record store.
Her records might go for a mint though, depends on the label.

i really like her. it shocked the heck out of me back when i found out the singer of 'son of a preacherman' was a white chick from england. btw: this seems to be a current trend with the likes of amy winehouse, duffy (welsh), etc...

i'll look around bill.  8)

Bill low tech solution is to feed a tape recorder from the earphone jack to a tape recorder and play the youtube video. You can get a cord from RAdio Shack.

If you just want the music on your computer; copy the URL of the youtube video, go to www.vixy.net, paste it in to the box and it'll convert it into a file that you can download and store on your computer. Simples.

I can burn you some CDs Bill. I have a couple around here of hers. I like your taste in music.  ;) I can combine the shipping of them with the left hand module for your cb650 too so it's perfect timing.  :)

That'd be GREAT!!!!!!!!! 8)  Yes, I've been listening to her AND the music from that period, since it came out. Oops, kinda ages me doesn't it? :D  Dusty is hard to beat. Among others, I also like the mellow sound that Karen Carpenter had, as well. 8) If you don't mind, PM me about what I owe you AND how you want me to pay, okay? ???   Thanks a bunch! Got plans for some of those songs of Dusty's. ;)

Already got the cds from MickeyX and completely forgot to let the rest of you know that my needs were taken care of.

BTW Mickey, those were great CDs and I've listened to them a lot and now I need to get me a CD player for the GTX! Let's see if Dusty can get her voice to go above the "Voice" of the pol' 440! ;) Might have to get myself a headset, so I can still enjoy Dusty's singing! ;D

Don't know how many folks out there even heard of Dusty Springfield, but she was a BIG part of the rock and roll movement back in the 60's, British and an excellent voice.

Her popularity was revived a bit by the film Pulp Fiction.

Amazon is my go-to place for music if I need it on disk.  I hardly ever buy music now when there are services like Pandora out there.  Go to pandora.com and plug in her name and you can listen to her music and other performers in a similar vein all day.  The service works better for some artists/genres than others.

I don't know about capturing streaming music to a disk you can listen to in the car; I just use my iPhone to stream what I want to hear wherever I am.

Thank you for your input on this Glenn. I've been an admirer of Dusty since back in my Junior Hifgh School days AND there are others that I need to check out as well.

Hey Bill,
Thanks for reminding me about Ms. Springfield. I have her version, which I think was the original, of "the Look of Love" as an mp3. PM me if you want it. I had forgotten how much I liked the tune, Dusty and Burt Bacharach until I listened to it. I'd be interested to know if the sax player is Stan Getz.

Bill
Here is a free file sharing download site I've been using for years. (The Basic Version)
Just typed in Dusty Springfield and got a whole page of her songs for downloading.
You can make your own CD's once you have the songs on your PC.
From memory I think that Windows Media Player 11 has some digital rights management installed on it but but any of the ealier versions of WMP should work fine.
A friend of mine has over 5000 songs downloaded from here.
A lot of oldies too.

I didn't realise that was illegal to download from this file sharing site although there was a lot of goings on before Napster was buried.
Another one that we used years ago was Audio Galaxy which has now gone.

That brings some questions to my mind about this.
Why aren't the authorities closing down the Limewire site and how can they give you the option to purchase their "Pro" version if it is illegal?
Is it illegal to use file sharing sites just in the US? (Maybe it is illegal full stop)
Is it illegal to "share" a CD or MP3 files with someone else if it is not done electronically?

Maybe I'm splitting hairs here but am curious about this.

If I was you
I'd be worried about me.

The RIAA which is the record industry watchdog will not chase you for a couple of songs. There are a couple of things you can do to protect yourself.

Do not leave songs in the folder they download to, or on your machine. Burn them to something and delete them.

Turn off you the file sharing feature on Limewire.

They are far more interested in the person who has 100 songs and will share them. The reason for this is simple. If I put up a song and you take it from me, now two copies are loose out there. If two people take it from us and are willing to share and two people take it from them, in a few days. thousands of copies are out there and shortly after that millions.
