Here is a free file sharing download site I've been using for years. (The Basic Version)
Just typed in Dusty Springfield and got a whole page of her songs for downloading.
You can make your own CD's once you have the songs on your PC.
From memory I think that Windows Media Player 11 has some digital rights management installed on it but but any of the ealier versions of WMP should work fine.
A friend of mine has over 5000 songs downloaded from here.
A lot of oldies too.

Just to note, it is a violation of copyright and hence a crime to download "free" music from peer-to-peer file sharing networks.
(Not that I didn't take advantage of Napster & LimeWire myself years ago but times have changed and the record companies (at least in the US) are serious about pursuing downloaders here.)
 I'm just sayin'...  ;)

Personally I get most of my music from the used CD store or I buy MP3's from Amazon for .69-.99 cents a piece.

Thanks for the word of Caution, Sure don't need any trouble. ::)

I didn't realise that was illegal to download from this file sharing site although there was a lot of goings on before Napster was buried.
Another one that we used years ago was Audio Galaxy which has now gone.

That brings some questions to my mind about this.
Why aren't the authorities closing down the Limewire site and how can they give you the option to purchase their "Pro" version if it is illegal?
Is it illegal to use file sharing sites just in the US? (Maybe it is illegal full stop)
Is it illegal to "share" a CD or MP3 files with someone else if it is not done electronically?

Maybe I'm splitting hairs here but am curious about this.

I don't know, myself. I don't know where they draw the line on who can or how much they can do or what ever. :-\

Thanks guys.
The main thing is that one way or another Bill can get some Dusty Springfield songs.  ;)  ;D  ;)

Yes, and I want to thank you all for whatever part you've played in this, I'm also going after songs by the Carpenters and Jimmie Rodgers (not the ole Country music one ,but the rock and roll one. Kisses Sweeter Than Wine, Honeycomb, BimBomBay and such as that.  ;)   Hey, what can I say, I need to build up a collection of CDs, get me a decent system and put in the GTX, so I can groove! :D

You're welcome. The Dusty in Memphis is my favorite overall album of hers.  8) I have a nice Carpenters one but for some reason, I can't burn it. I tried many different times and it wouldn't work. You can have it though if you pay shipping which shouldn't be much. I'll also try to scan the liner notes from the Dusty CDs for you so you have some of the history and playlist that goes with the album. She was one talented, groovy lady.  :) Perfect music for your car.
1969 CL350 Scrambler... almost done!!! Well, until something else goes wrong. :)
2006 HD 883 Sportster, stock. No use changing it, it's still gonna be a Harley.

Mickey, I appreciate that, if you are sure about the Carpenters CD. Just to hear how Karen can get so mellow, just sets me back. I like Dusty because of her beautiful voice and then Karen, because SHE also has a voice worth listening to as well and I could listen to HER ALL day too! Lots of different people AND groups from back then, that i really enjoy. Thing is, there are some whose song seem to fit whatever mood I am in and then there are SOME who I just like the general sound that fits how I am feeling. Do you get what I am so clumsily trying to say? Some have a certain message, while others just make me feel better hearing them. ;) When I was at my first base, in the Air Force, my room mate went to bed each night with a Jackie Deshanon Album on his record player. It was like a tradition with him. Didn't bother me any, I already liked her "What the world needs now, is Love" and
"Put a little Love in your heart". ;)

You are SO right about Dusty being one talented Lady, my thoughts as well. 8)

I would really like the Carpenter CD and the Dusty Stuff, if YOU are sure about it.

Just let me know how much, and thank you again,   Bill ;)
