what do you cost on average?

i have a few stock springs i can try as well as the progressives ut if i need something else ill try the "custom" linear springs too

I forgot..somewhere around a hundred bucks with shipping for a set from Sonicsprings.com make sure you e-mail them with EXACTLY what you are doing though, tell them the guy with the other CB750 project, and XS500 project sent ya...doubt it'll help you out at all, but maybe they'll remember me lol.

EDIT: or did you mean how much do the emulators cost?

no i have the cartridges but have not installed them

also bought those preload top adjustors.  it was a case of spending money before thought on the forks
i figured the progressive springs, top preloaders and the cartridges would give me a sick set up but im still learning

i'm curious as to racetech's logic with the straight springs, as the springs and dampers serve two different functions. affect each other, yes... but i still don't understand why they recommend the straight rate springs specifically. like TG said, it's a matter of what you like or don't.

I'm sure it's just personal pref and there is more than one way to get a good ride. from what I read on their site the reason linears are reccomended is that the emulator and not the springs will regulate the damping. or something like that. I don't know.

so the emulators are 170. springs are 100. adapter? who knows. almost $300. wondering if it's really worth it.

paul, my take on this is that since the emulators solve the "harshness" problem with the stock setup, if you mount them, you can go for straight rates that give you more control. If you ride hard or race, i.e. compressing your suspension harder due to higher G-force, you dont want to waste precious ground clearance while you are on the softer part of the progressive springs.

long one, makes any sense?

I'm looking for RT cartridge emulators for my 1976 cb750f. Their site does not list a product for this model. I checked the parts finder at Bikebandit.com to see if the fork legs match anything else but according to them they are specific to the 75 and 76 ss. Anyone have any experience w/ this?
So much to do, so little time.

I put RT emulators in several Suzukis.  I went with RT suggestions from fork oil weight, oil height and spring rate.  I spent some time with preload to get it right.  On the street, these forks are the perfect for me.  I think about $200 for the parts and springs.  I also have a very good shock in the back and that helps, too.  I like working with suspension as it is so easy to mess it up and make so much better.   I will use progressive springs in my cafe race because I want try them.

I think I'll just use progressive rate springs.  I have wanted to try them and see how it works.  I can always add the RT's later.
