76 CB750F front caliper missing plastic spacer? ***Resolved***
« on: October 17, 2009, 03:35:54 PM »
I recently pulled my front caliper apart and see that the piston is in direct contact with the pad. Is this normal or should there be a round plastic spacer between them?
Asking specifically for the  76 CB750F front caliper. Thanks!

Found the microfiche....no spacer

When I rebuilt my stock caliper it had a plastic ring spacer it it.  White ring in the bottom of the photo.  I don't know if it is absolutely necessary as it may be an anti chatter device or something to keep the pad from sticking to the piston from corrosion.  You could probably make your own from a piece of PVC.
