Very Nice.... you'll have to post a pick of the tank in sunlight when it's done.

Are you talking soda blasting for the exterior?  Or to clean up the ports?  Not sure soda has enough grit to get paint off the exterior.

Cheers, joe

Did you ever get that shifting problem figured out?  My 550 had a similar problem with finding neutral at a stop.  Very notchy and when I could find it it was overly easy to go up into second.  I adjusted the clutch properly and the problem went away.  I can't speak for the shifting problem between gears however.

i adjusted the clutch and it got better but still hit some phantom neutrals from time to time.... i havnt been on the bike all summer.... i laid it down around memorial day.... and decided to do some work to it and its been slow going but im going to do some serious wrok on it tmrw....... i was taking my time to make sure i did it right the first time.... and some how ripped my base gasket..... cost me a week ... the new one came in and some how i busted a ring.... delayed a week and a half but it came in today.... so hopefully i can get it together really soon.... but like i said i been trying to really take my time and do it right

I am 99.9% sure that the 550 speedo gear is not required. It gas been discussed quite extensively on the forum and I am pretty sure the FAQ is wrong. You will gave to modify your speedo drive plate and maybe notch your hub. Personally I modified the plate and industrial epoxied it to my hub.

No need to name it.  I've always resisted naming mine in spite of suggestions from others to do so.

I do dig the paint job btw.  Vaguely reminiscent of a Trans Am or Firebird.

uggh i decided to pull the engine and just focus on what needed done (redone[am i that lame?]) so the base gasket ended up having a crease in it and thats why it was leaking(from cycle x) and apperently i put the fork seals in upside down....so  cycle x is like 2 weeks late with thier shipment... should i get all the surfaces decked to make sure its spot on or what?.... i  want to put this bike back together and be done with engine work... uggh

good news is a got an excellent running KO and it will keep me mobile till my K8 get back on the road
