New rider from Kansas City, MO
« on: October 19, 2009, 08:04:58 AM »
hey guys - total n00b MC rider here.

after putting 10k on a Honda Ruckus scooter from early 2008 - late 2009, I stepped up to buying a friend's 1973 CB350 Four.

I'm a writer at an ad agency, so my scooter (and now my cycle) is my main commuter vehicle, since I don't really bring anything with me to work.

Just here to learn about maintenance pitfalls, find reputable parts suppliers and learn what's what.

Good to see another KC rider!

As reputable parts suppliers go, I don't know of any off-hand in town. Thankfully we have the internet; as far as I've found, everything local is massively overpriced.

Welcome to the forum!  Maybe Pinhead hasn't found the guys at caferacer in the west bottoms Dell's in blue springs(no disrespect pinhead)...  I've had a lot of luck with both as well as the internet.  There's also a place up in Liberty that will make you custom cables with all the fittings!  PM or email me if you need any help.  Maybe we can hook up for a ride, I live downtown.  BTW who did you get the bike from?

Cheers,

Anders

Nope, I live on the far-west side of town (Shawnee) and have never heard of either of those shops. Do you have addresses/phone numbers??

Cafe RacerInc.com? 816-221-0711 Great repair shop also has great prices and will work with you on parts and helmets!
Dell's is in Blue springs on 40 hwy and Woods Chappel not sure on the #  Had parts for my SS in stock.  Said they where
looking to get in more stuff!  I think the shop in Liberty is a Yamaha store off 291 but they make great cables in house!
