I am looking to paint my bike a dark army green. Does anyone have the name of an auto paint color they know of that would get close to that color?

Duplicolor makes a self-etching primer that's a little light but very close.

Olive drab is the name of the color if I remember correctly.

I am going to have Johnny5 do my tank and covers and it sounds as though he needs any color that was on a car so he can get the paint. Any cars that were given a nice olive green finish? Feel free to chime in Johnny5!

Ding ding ding    We have a winner.  It is Olive Drab Green.  OD Green.  You should be able to find it at any auto paint store or in rattle can.

I was actually thinking about rescue green metallic. Like on this jeep. So many options, I want to take my time and really think it over! ???

I would go with a sheet metal type of metallic color. Like on the later P-51's and P-47's from WWII. Black and white pin stripes like they did back in the day...Then, do rivet holes and also a couple battle dents ;D

Not sure what paint system he uses, but Martin Senour also known as Sherwin Williams has formula numbers for camo military colors. He might be able to cross these formulas over to whatever brand he uses. If not let me know and I can do some more research.

Olive: 47090
Light Olive: 47092
Juniper: 47091

Those are all dark camo greens of varying shades. I'll take a cell pic and post it here too.

EDIT: Sorry the cell pic is terrible no matter what I do...lol. I guess just let me know if he can cross those over. Olive is the closest to what people picture as "Army Green" but Juniper is pretty close to that too...Light Olive is more of a yellowish green but still dark...not light by any means.

The color on that jeep isn't really an army green, but I've seen it on a bike and it really looks good in person
Yep, I'm the kid that figured out how to put things back together...eventually.

That was my thinking. Now my friend is trying to convince me to go with competition orange. :o
